There were these rich kids up in russia or some shit, who would jump people, beat them, kill them, and record it all.

These were obviously kept FROM the people, but it got leaked. So yes, theres a video of a bunch of teenagers brutally murdering a man on the internet.

Scary shit.

Theres also the one of these terrorists who cut this Russian spies head off with a machete while he was still conscious.

But hey, that's the internet. Where nothing can be censored.

You must be refering to the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs:
Quote from: Wikipedia
The suspects' mobile phones and personal computers contained multiple video recordings of the murders taking place. One full video was leaked to the Internet, showing the murder of 48-year-old Sergei Yatzenko. He is seen laying on his back in a wooded area, and is struck repeatedly in the face with a hammer held inside a plastic bag. One of the attackers pokes out Yatzenko's eyes, and stabs him in the abdomen with a screwdriver. Yatzenko is then struck with the hammer in order to ensure that he is dead. The attack lasts over four minutes, during which the victim lapses in and out of consciousness. One of the murderers can be seen smiling towards the camera during the video.[39] The murderers walk back to their car, showing that the crime took place only a few feet away from the side of a road, next to their parked car. They discuss the murder calmly, expressing mild surprise that the victim was still breathing after a screwdriver was plunged into his exposed brain. The suspects then wash their hands and the hammer with a water bottle, and begin to laugh. Only two suspects appear to be present in the video, with one always behind the camera.
The suspects were also found in possession of multiple photographs showing them attending funerals of the victims. They can be seen smiling and "flipping off" the coffins and gravestones. Evidence of animal abuse was also shown in court, with the suspects posing alongside mutilated animal corpses.[40]
The photographic and video evidence was shown in court on October 29, 2008, as part of a larger presentation of over 300 photographs and two videos.[26] The defense objected to the presentation, claiming that the evidence was obtained illegally, and that the subjects shown in the video and the photographs were digitally altered to resemble the suspects. When Suprunyuck and Sayenko were asked if they recognized the people in the photographs, they replied that they did not. Judge Ivan Senchenko responded by stating "You are not blind."[41] Valery Voronyuck, an expert on film and video editing, testified to the court that in his view the video material had not been faked or altered in any way.[3] The court rejected all the objections raised by the defense, and accepted the prosecution's argument that the material was genuine, and showed the suspects in the act of murdering their victims.[

God, no, you dummy. Why are FUNDAMENTALISTS so brutal. There are millions of muslims. Probably like a 20% of them are brutal.

Thread's getting semi-off-topic. But anyways... are me and Don the only ones that think this?

If that's the actual recording of everything, it's kinda neat to know I guess, but I also find it disturbing that people would share something like that with the public.
It's someone's last words before a tragic accident, aka their deaths. I don't think that that's something that should be shared to everyone. Mainly privacy reason and such. Just seems almost disrespectful to me.
Then again though, sharing something like that with the public reminds people of what happened, so people don't forget.
I still don't know if it's really morally right.
Just my opinion.

Well you could say the same about the videos of the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs, or the photos and videos of the dead from the incident at Chernobyl. The fact is, some people are interested in it, human curiosity.

Would it make a difference if the audio was kept from the public?

Granted, the question delves into the world of the paranormal and undead, and it's not a grand topic to discuss in a gaming community.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the purpose of the thread was. Was it the anniversary of the crash or something?

All this thread has done is depress me ;-;

Since you people are discussing footage of disgusting stuff --
MOST, if not all,  mass murders/genocides/concentration camps and such things were highly documented and filmed. If you're looking at the right places, you'll find footage of pretty much every mass killing that has ever existed. There's even footage of smaller war crimes that's just only to be seen by the right eyes. Example? A video of a helicopter shooting several iraqi civilians in 2006 that was leaked in 2009 or 08, footage of friendly firing between American and British soldiers in Iraq, and so on.
Come on.
It's not like all this shit wasn't used for propaganda.

You do know that there are by far more train and car crashes than there are plane crashes, so in fact, it's safer to travel by plane than by car/train.

Oh no, how can they not allow an enemy marine force that dropped two nuclear bombs on them earlier into their own territory.
._.

It is a sad thing, but there's like 4 plane crashes a year. How about we look at all the planes that DIDN'T crash?
I'm pretty sure you would want to be rescued by anyone who is willing to help, even if their from a different country. Also don't pull the whole "Oh they dropped the atomic bomb on us!" shit, don't be ignorant and I don't want to discuss that.
You must assimilate into our culture of diversity.

Coolz karma not 1000? Ban.

I just stated that there are by far more train crashes than plane crashes in response to cake's comment. ._.

If I may, we know that car crashes happen a lot more than airplane accidents but the main reason somebody would still prefer to drive instead of fly is the psychological impact.

In an airplane accident, it takes time for the plane to fall to the ground. The next three to five minutes will be sheer terror and helplessness, something no human wants to experience. PLUS for the most part you're royally fucked in an airplane accident. Something CAN hit water fast enough for the water to have the consistency of concrete due to surface tension, if only for an instant.

For the most part, car accidents are minor and severe ones are instantaneous or the feeling of helplessness last for a few seconds at most.

A deadly plane accident may be quick and relatively painless, but I'd rather have a few milliseconds of intense pain than five minutes of sheer, helpless terror.

You know, when a plane is going down, the worst place you can be is INSIDE of it.
The weight of the plane will reach a terminal velocity that is WAY more than what it would be if you were just free falling.

Anyhow, when a plane goes down, it really matters where it hits, and how it hits.

There's a lot of factors in play here,

As previously stated, not everyone had died from the crash, most had survived, but died due to hypothermia.

Actually not most, but much more than 4. ALL of them were sitting in the back of the plane. If rescue had come sooner, They would have survived.
