Title: Last Recording from JAL 123 :(
Post by: Cheesicle on January 16, 2011, 10:39:01 PM
Japan Airlines Flight 123 Crashed on August 12th, 1985 killing 520 people out of 524 on board. It was the deadliest Airline disaster in history. The following is the final voice recording seconds before the crash. (Mayday warnings and "Pull Up!" Warnings are heard at the end along with the crash itself.)

How was the 4 people that survived?  :-[

There were actually much more survivors. The American Marines in the nearby Yokota Air Base were the first to respond. They discovered the Crash Site, and asked permission from the Japanese Government to rescue the survivors. For what ever idiotic fucking reason, they refused, so the Marines headed back. The Japanese then assembled a Rescue team, but they did not want to go during night. (They were a mere 60 km away from the crash site.) By the time they actually started rescuing, most of the survivors froze to death. (The plane crashed near Mt. Fuji, just 100 km away from Tokyo.) All the survivors were being cushioned by something during the crash. 2 out of 4 of them were children, and I think all were women.

You do know that there are by far more train and car crashes than there are plane crashes, so in fact, it's safer to travel by plane than by car/train.

Oh no, how can they not allow an enemy marine force that dropped two nuclear bombs on them earlier into their own territory.
._.

It is a sad thing, but there's like 4 plane crashes a year. How about we look at all the planes that DIDN'T crash?

Please tell us, oh great knowledgeable one,

Train crashes aren't that likely, like you portray them. A train is fixed to it's rails, it won't go off in a random direction unless it derails. If a retard rail worker decides to throw a switch track which leads to another speeding train, that's a majority of crashes right there.

Car crashes do happen, so that's a factor.

But if you are in a plane thats liek, 40000+ ft in the air, and something goes wrong...you're fucked unless the pilot's can emergency land it. If you crash into a mountain like the JAL 123, you don't have such a great chance of survival.

If that's the actual recording of everything, it's kinda neat to know I guess, but I also find it disturbing that people would share something like that with the public.
It's someone's last words before a tragic accident, aka their deaths. I don't think that that's something that should be shared to everyone. Mainly privacy reason and such. Just seems almost disrespectful to me.
Then again though, sharing something like that with the public reminds people of what happened, so people don't forget.
I still don't know if it's really morally right.
Just my opinion.

And what again are the odds of that?
We've evolved from flying with propeller driven aeroplanes that crashed 99% of the time to planes that barely EVER fail. And if they do fall, it's mostly due to manufacturing faults or due to huge turbulences. Planes flying into a mountain is mostly a fault from either the pilots or the people working at the towers.

Just to make this a lil' bit clear for you: more planes get shot down in military exercises than they crash on natural causes.

And, statistics time.
There's a train accident around every 115 minutes, around 10% of which involve multiple people dying. 20% are trains with serious chemicals in them.
This is opposed to a maximum of one fatal air crash a year.
Most aeroplane accidents are simple emergency landings into the ocean, which usually end up in the majority of people getting rescued.
I don't think I even have to mention the amount of car crashes per year, cause we all know there are SHITLOADS.

I just said that due to Cake's statement that he prefers to go by car/train.
And NO country would allow the marine of a different country they've been at war with recently to enter their territory, yet you seem to think the Japanese only disallowed that because they rule like that.

I was told by someone that they actually did record footage or something..
Not just that - many other things. They told me what there were, like actual footage of scientists testing to see if injecting blue dye into the eyeball of human beings would work with no effort of numbing the victim whatsoever (in attempts to making them aryan), but the thing that stuck to me the most is the footage of those nazis grabbing jewish infants by their foot, throwing them in the air and shooting them as they are airborne. In front of their mothers?

These footages of course were not released in public and I think they got rid of it as soon as possible.

But then again it's just something I was told of and I have nothing to back it up. Do I believe it? Idk.

Scary shit.

Theres also the one of these terrorists who cut this Russian spies head off with a machete while he was still conscious.

You must be refering to the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs:
Quote from: Wikipedia
The suspects' mobile phones and personal computers contained multiple video recordings of the murders taking place. One full video was leaked to the Internet, showing the murder of 48-year-old Sergei Yatzenko. He is seen laying on his back in a wooded area, and is struck repeatedly in the face with a hammer held inside a plastic bag. One of the attackers pokes out Yatzenko's eyes, and stabs him in the abdomen with a screwdriver. Yatzenko is then struck with the hammer in order to ensure that he is dead. The attack lasts over four minutes, during which the victim lapses in and out of consciousness. One of the murderers can be seen smiling towards the camera during the video.[39] The murderers walk back to their car, showing that the crime took place only a few feet away from the side of a road, next to their parked car. They discuss the murder calmly, expressing mild surprise that the victim was still breathing after a screwdriver was plunged into his exposed brain. The suspects then wash their hands and the hammer with a water bottle, and begin to laugh. Only two suspects appear to be present in the video, with one always behind the camera.
The suspects were also found in possession of multiple photographs showing them attending funerals of the victims. They can be seen smiling and "flipping off" the coffins and gravestones. Evidence of animal abuse was also shown in court, with the suspects posing alongside mutilated animal corpses.[40]
The photographic and video evidence was shown in court on October 29, 2008, as part of a larger presentation of over 300 photographs and two videos.[26] The defense objected to the presentation, claiming that the evidence was obtained illegally, and that the subjects shown in the video and the photographs were digitally altered to resemble the suspects. When Suprunyuck and Sayenko were asked if they recognized the people in the photographs, they replied that they did not. Judge Ivan Senchenko responded by stating "You are not blind."[41] Valery Voronyuck, an expert on film and video editing, testified to the court that in his view the video material had not been faked or altered in any way.[3] The court rejected all the objections raised by the defense, and accepted the prosecution's argument that the material was genuine, and showed the suspects in the act of murdering their victims.[

Well you could say the same about the videos of the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs, or the photos and videos of the dead from the incident at Chernobyl. The fact is, some people are interested in it, human curiosity.

Would it make a difference if the audio was kept from the public?

Granted, the question delves into the world of the paranormal and undead, and it's not a grand topic to discuss in a gaming community.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the purpose of the thread was. Was it the anniversary of the crash or something?

Since you people are discussing footage of disgusting stuff --
MOST, if not all,  mass murders/genocides/concentration camps and such things were highly documented and filmed. If you're looking at the right places, you'll find footage of pretty much every mass killing that has ever existed. There's even footage of smaller war crimes that's just only to be seen by the right eyes. Example? A video of a helicopter shooting several iraqi civilians in 2006 that was leaked in 2009 or 08, footage of friendly firing between American and British soldiers in Iraq, and so on.
Come on.
It's not like all this shit wasn't used for propaganda.

If I may, we know that car crashes happen a lot more than airplane accidents but the main reason somebody would still prefer to drive instead of fly is the psychological impact.

In an airplane accident, it takes time for the plane to fall to the ground. The next three to five minutes will be sheer terror and helplessness, something no human wants to experience. PLUS for the most part you're royally fucked in an airplane accident. Something CAN hit water fast enough for the water to have the consistency of concrete due to surface tension, if only for an instant.

For the most part, car accidents are minor and severe ones are instantaneous or the feeling of helplessness last for a few seconds at most.

A deadly plane accident may be quick and relatively painless, but I'd rather have a few milliseconds of intense pain than five minutes of sheer, helpless terror.

You know, when a plane is going down, the worst place you can be is INSIDE of it.
The weight of the plane will reach a terminal velocity that is WAY more than what it would be if you were just free falling.

Anyhow, when a plane goes down, it really matters where it hits, and how it hits.

There's a lot of factors in play here,

As previously stated, not everyone had died from the crash, most had survived, but died due to hypothermia.

Actually not most, but much more than 4. ALL of them were sitting in the back of the plane. If rescue had come sooner, They would have survived.

Oh no, how can they not allow an enemy marine force that dropped two nuclear bombs on them earlier into their own territory.
._.

As far as I know, that's incorrect.

You do know that this was over 40 years from that time? The Japaneses government have made peace with us for quite a while after the war. So I'm sure they have forgiven us by now and built trust with us. The Jap's wanted to be faggots this time and not accept our help, RIGHT when we were at the crash site. If they didn't let us help due to that reason, why are American's allowed to visit Japan in the first place? Better yet, why are we allowed to live in Japan if they did not trust us.

Or, what you are telling us is that...well say you own a country, and you just got out of war with Mexico. Its been 20 years since and you have made peace with them since. But a major tragedy happens, and Mexican rescue forces were on scene. You'd rather have your own people die, waiting for your countries help before accepting Foreign aid?

Nope.avi

military bases EVERYWHERE

Japanese people arent that unfriendly with U.S. troops, since our troops are the dominating force in the area. They don't even have their own military. They have a little defense force called the "JDF." They RELY on us for defence. Don't give me that crap that they don't trust us.

Don't try do to do it. Don hates the American way.

I heard about this crash. There is one episode about JAL123 crash.
Go look at air crash investigation.
Sad 520 people died. This is the worst single plane crash ever in history of aviation accident.
but 9/11 and Tennerife disaster  is worse.

Yes, however JAL 123 is the worst single Plane only accident. Tennerife involved 2 planes, 9/11 involved 4 planes, and 3 buildings.

Sabb, have you seen the suicide of Budd Dwyer on Youtube?

That shit's fucking nasty.

Budd Dwyer was a Senator found guilty of bribery. He killed himself on live national television.

The amount of blood that poured out of his nose still baffles me.

I never implied that this was the only disturbing video on the internet related to death or something...
Just seemed that no one else thought the same thing as I did, since no one even mentioned it until I did, and it still doesn't seem to bother people :l.

I didn't, but I watched it after you mentioned it.
Pretty disturbing too...
I was surprised something like that was even allowed on YouTube?

Exactly...

"I don't see how a real suicide, which is graphic, and traumatizing to some people, can be shown on YouTube, while a nice pair of boobs, which is beautiful, and not so traumatizing, cannot be shown on YouTube? What the hell has the world come to?"
