So if your DVD drive fails your pc won't work

How old are you to still use DVD as a hdd :0

jimonions:
Yay ive gotten my dads old laptop pc for now and hooked it up to my huge monitor so now i got dual screens :D. This will do for now until i go to Guam for the summer where i can find a good replacement.

My old pc is completely fuxed and cant read the hard drive at all so its pretty much more tech trash for the kids to scavenege in the dumps of africa. (National Geographic ftw)

ps. its also windows 7 :D

DoeniDon:
If you can't manage to save anything by yourself, try bringing it to a computer store, maybe they can do anything. That's what I did.
It will most likely cost you something, but it may be worth it.

The laptop disk drive has also failed leading me to believe thatt there is a virus on either this site or sdk. They are the only two things I have done on it. What I don't understand is why noyone elses hard drives are failing too.

Can someone try out sdk and tell me if they crash too? There is no virus in my home LAN cus noyone else in my family has gotten it. I've also vistited this site on 2 other pcs and they both work fine still. I'm at a loss please give me your synopsis.

Did you copy any files from your possibly infected pc over to the laptop?

I don't think sdk causes HD failures but can't confirm that.

Maybe the drives are both end of life? That or you like to give the hdd's a good shake every now and then :P jk lul

You can also attempt to run recovery tools on the drives to check for bad sectors.

I recommend HDD Regenerator 1.71. Can also try (Ontrack Easy Recovery, Winternals Disk Commander, Active Partition Recovery, Active Uneraser )

--Unless someone is super sneaky, I'm 9000% sure this site does nawt haz viruz kthx.
