Maps/Karma

OK, I don't think there will be a fix for TTT for a while, so in the mean time I would suggest removing the non-playable maps from the voting list. There are only a handful of non-TTT maps that work, but people still vote for the broken ones.

As for karma, I'm sorry, but it sucks on these servers. I spent nearly all day trying to get my karma back up from
90% reduced damage to 30%, and then I kill one innocent cause they shot me...and I am back down to 90%. I'm sorry, but there is no point in playing in your servers if my karma is going to go down so dramatically and take all day to recover, and not be able to do anything excepted to be killed. I know the purpose of karma is to sorta punish for being wrong, but this is ridiculous. And I'm not the only one that is complaining about this, I'm just the one that did sign up for the forums (though I thought I was already, unless you moved the forum).
I just wish it wasn't as harsh, or reset at the end of each round.

So these are my two suggestions, take them as you see fit.

Well idk about the maps but give an example?

The karma system has been argued many times in the past and it always goes back to no change. If karma was to reset every round/map, we would have a bunch more rdmers than now. Permakarma is supposed to keep rdmers away and if you lose karma accidentally, you learn from your mistakes and possibly have more logical thinking.

You can refer to past karma threads in earlier topics in this suggestion section.

Fucking this. I wouldn't mind playing TTT more often if only my entire experience wasn't this:

70% dying
30% actually playing

If you think someone is RDMing you > Let them. As for karma the system keeps out mass rdmers most of the time.

Not to mention the legit players who don't want to spend their enjoyment time recovering their karma

this is seriously annoying

>kill one person with high karma
>go from 900 karma to 400

>someone baits you because you have low karma
>you now have 10 karma

At 30 karma per round, it would take 33 rounds of not losing ANY karma whatsoever to get from 10 to 1000. It takes about 10 seconds to get from 1000 to 10.

If every round lasts 10 minutes, that's 5 hours of playing time.

That's not how long it always takes, but it's pretty easy to come across bad luck.

Actually, for me, I can go from 10 karma to 600 karma within 1 game or two.

I honestly forget what I do but I'm just really cautious. It's not that hard to get karma back.

I seriously doubt that.

you start at 10 karma. No matter if you shoot a traitor in the head, you'll still go up 30 karma per round.

I don't honestly know really.

It's been a LONG time since my karma has gone under 700.

If you don't know something, don't assert that doing it is easy

All I am saying is it is real easy to lose karma and hard to get it back.

I also have to disagree with the RDM issue. ECG servers reset karma at the next map, there is no more mass RMD there then there is in Random's servers.

That's because for one, there is usually always an admin on there.
With that, you also can't see who the admin's are if you are a newcomer (assuming all rdm'rs are newbies.)

With our servers, we show you who the Admin's are (with a bright yellow text with their name).
There also isn't always an admin on, though we do have VIP's to handle it when there isn't.
However, VIP's can only do so much.

Besides, permkarma I personally prefer for several reasons:
1. prevent's rdm's
2. Gives the Traitor's more of a chance to live. By this I mean people are less likely to kill suspects b/c they know they could lose karma.
3. Going with #2, it's also more fun to try to figure out who the T is when you have a consequence for making a wrong move.

You gain points for successful traitor kills.

One map has 6 rounds.
That's a guaranteed 180 karma, and assuming you're somewhat decent at the game, you should be able to at least shoot a traitor, which will give you around ~100 karma as well.
So within 4-5 maps, you can easily go up to 1000 karma again.

I still stand by my point that people complaining about permakarma are just RDMing too much. It's really easy to get a good score while still having good karma.

I never had problems getting my karma back and it's easy for me to keep it up at over 800 and I'm not that cautious as you may think but seeing as there are constantly appearing threads about this, I think that we could switch it back temporary and see how that works, but then people should be prepared to report rdm rounds that may occur.
