Very first day: I'd learn if/where the army set-up safe points and other things like that. Or where Sanders put up his safe area. Then I'd get a baseball bat and look for any sort of vehicle or survivors.
Weapons/Materials:
-Baseball bat
-Pistol if found
-semi-auto/auto fire rifle if found
-Vehicle
-Fuel
-Food
-Survivors as human shields if need-be.

What I would to the first day : I would monitor how bad the situation is. If it's just a group of zombies, the town would be under a state of lock down so I would get to any nearby firearm store and/or Police station if the Police are out enforcing their law and trying to whack the zombies to death. After amassing firearms I would hunt for supplies. There will most likely be abandoned cars on the George Washington Bridge or in the town so I'd find a heavy vehicle like a Jeep. After gathering supplies from supermarkets I would load it onto the car and head off to where most of the rNd members would be, Las Vegas. I would only stop for little amounts of gas at a time and try to find a barricaded house.

I would gather these materials :

- Firearms
- Food/water/supplies in general
- Gasoline
- Lighter Fluid
- Laptop
- A blunt object capable of smashing
- An axe
- Kevlar
- A first aid kit.

you do realize that most nuclear fallout shelters are stocked with 30 years of food and water right? after all there also build so you can avoid the radiation that lasts 25-30 years.

From my realistic point of view. I hear the news on television "blahblah stay indoors or zombies will hurt you" and hear that its somewhat near my city. Assuming that these zombies are the ones like in "Dawn of the Dead".

What I would do first on the very first day:
I would get my cricket bat then go down to the garage and get my rusted axe, ww1 bayonet and a couple planks of wood. >> continues when I get back from school
