Renaming VIP to Moderator?

I'm just throwing this out there, but people tend to associate VIP with donors (like me :s ), and VIP's are essentially moderators, right?

What's the harm can it do, aside from making it clear from the get-go to guests who these people with pink tags are?

Just a light suggestion, if anyone has a valid reason why they shouldn't, feel free to post.

I still don't see why people would be opposed to it, aside from the fact it's change. VIP's ARE moderators, and to most people, VIP seems like they're a donor or sorts. (MOD) Would be much more clearer to people who are playing on the server for the first time.

actaully VIPs are not moderators, MODERATORS are moderators

VIPS are a separate group that was created to uphold respected abilities

thats like saying with the previous system with respected... why not just rename them all to moderators.... cuz essentially thats what they are right?

Yeah. It seems like it would help clear up the little confusion there is, as to what a VIP does.

I'm not asking to give VIP's more power, just a name-change (hence the title).

I think he's trying to imply that VIP's don't have the powers Assmod's default Moderator group has.

And like I said, this was just an idea I was throwing out there, hence why it's in Senior Section and not Suggestions.


There is nothing wrong I can see with this change, and it would help newcomers identify who VIP's are.

Heh, doesn't really matter to me one way or another.
Some people do get confused thinking that they can donate to get VIP and such and will ask how, but it isn't a big deal, just have to keep telling them there are no donations and that everything is earned.

Well since there isn't a Mod rank ingame, Why not do it?
Besides, I think it would look better with MOD and not VIP.

I don't think changing the tag to moderator was the main point of the thread, just that having it as VIP was confusing newcomers.
I'm pretty sure he just meant moderator as an example, I'm sure we could think up something else to change it to.

Nope, because a true mod wouldn't need the lower ranks to vote to moderate.
