Depends really.
Not really, any new car will be cheaper if it's in manual (as in true stick shift, not paddle shift) than opposed to auto. A large portion of them outlive auto transmissions/car life and are a lot cheaper to fix and maintain transmission wise. If you change your gear oil as recommended, the only thing you really gotta worry about is the clutch, if you know how to drive proper and not peel out at every stoplight, you normally gotta change the clutch every 100k+ miles. (thankfully for my truck a new clutch only costs $60)
The only thing that's cool about autos today is that they finally caught up with torque converter lock technology and get same gas mileage as a manual.
