America is not a continent, it is the abreviation for a country. The continents you are refering to are North America and South America. It may piss you off, but "america" is not a valid term for the group of continents since it is commonly used for the country "The United States of America". It is just too ambiguous to use that way.

Try "The Americas".

And @shawn. Google any reference to "america". I guarantee damn near all of them reference the country. So I think I am within my rights to assume someone is refering to the country when they say "America".

Overall the name of the country is not something to complain about. Unless you do some kind of clerical work, and have to deal with this on a constant basis you have nothing to complain about.

Yes, but you can't really talk about the military when the country you mean is neutral and highly dislikes wars.
Also, we had military accomplishments ... They were just only important for Helvetica and didn't matter to anyone else. Switzerland just shows that it's always best to stay out of wars. We haven't joined the First or Second World War and weren't affected too much by it. That's why it's so rich.
