Time Machine doesn't exist even in the future.
« on: July 23, 2010, 04:04:45 AM »
I've been thinking about this for sometime when I am going to sleep or in my free time.
Let's just get on to it,
I kept promising myself that when I have a Time Machine, I would go to this specific time(RIGHT NOW) and give the Time Machine to my past self(which is now).
Wouldn't that makes my future self to go back in the past, which is now, and give the time machine to me?
Well thats just my theory.

If you go to the past all the future changes, if the future changes you might not go to the past, thus not changing the past = past stays the same = EXTREME LOOP
That's why I don't think that time travel is possible, but if you know Einstien's theory, the space can be streched, ripped, compressed, etc, and it also says that time and space are combined with each other, meaning that you can create a wormhole that is like a time machine, though no one knows how to create a wormhole, no one really knows if wormholes really exist.

If I had a time machine I would re-do some parts of my life..

I don't know though because it can drastically alter the future.

Travelling in time is just impossible.

Let's say, for example:

I want to go back before I was born and kill my parents.

Is that possible? No.
Why? Because if I kill my parents before I was born, I couldn't exist.

I want to go back in time 1 hour ago and stop me from posting this.

Not possible.
Why? If I go back and I stop me from doing so, I would never go back in time to stop me.

Fuck. My head is about to blow up thanks to you, guys.

Exactly like I said, it causes paradoxes, though if someone from the past travels to the future, then it's possible, because he only affects his future by doing that, like every other thing that he does lol

Because. If you really want a time machine that badly, do you think the future you would ACTUALLY go back in time just to give it away after waiting so many years to get one?

Use your brain.

Unpossible. You'd know what would happen in the future, and just by that, you'd be changing it.

Travelling to the future = Future world travelling to the past

Time travel to the past has currently been deemed impossible by modern science. So that's why you haven't gotten your time machine yet.

Although time travel to the future is very possible. You can experience it in your daily lives climb to the top of a high building, and the time you experience is faster by a small but measureable amount compared to everyone else.

This is called "Gravitational time dilation" It basically means the more gravity you experience the slower time will pass for you. So if you were able to get into a space ship and fly right next to a black hole, a few hours would pass for you, while hundreds of years would pass back on earth.

GPS satellites encounter problems with time dilation effects, since they require extreme accuracy in keeping track of time in order to give accurate positioning, the small little boost in speed to time provided by being out in geosycn orbit, messes with the system so they have to be calibrated to take the dilation effect into account.

gahhh i've said this so many times...

it would be like speaker feedback when u put a mic near a speaker, it loops over and over until the speaker blows up or you stop it, basicly thats how a time machine would work, the air, matter etc, would end up looping until somebody stops it, 50x worse than a core meltdown, for all you know it could change one little thing in the past and the world would not exist
