Garry has just posted new information on his blog about the coming engine update. If all goes well, we can all enjoy it on Monday next week. With such a big update you would expect problems to occur, but during the beta testing period no big issues were encountered, which is a great thing.
The biggest new thing in this update is multicore rendering. Earlier some people worried about the advantage of it, but it proves to boost the framerate noticeably in common situations, like when dealing with a lot of props.

Since this is an engine update, make sure you don’t have any vital saves laying around, because there is a possibility they will break! If you wish to finish something after Monday, make sure you’ve turned off automatic updates.
