ive got a crappy keyboard which half the keyes dont work properly and i get gaps in my sentances and have to go over each word and fill in the missing letters (no rly this sentaces had 10 mistakes in it before i went over it). And as for my mouse i guess its ok, nothing special, the only thing i dont like about it is how it gathers all sorts of crap forcing me to clean it every 5 min(whats odd is that i scrub my hands until they are so clean you could see your face reflected off them, my mouse i have a spray can with soapy water ready at all times and wipe off my mouse with tissues). Neverless it still finds a way to gather garbage.
Oh and i might also add in my mic cost 2000 yen roughly 20$ and since its one of those crappy designs where the mic is solid (not the bendy ones) i have to tape it with duck tape to my cheek (unimaginable when every time youve got to get up to refill the soapy water for your spray can and wash your hands every 30 min)

For me at least, the benefits win7 would give me over vista is not worth it.

Vista in its current state on my computer, has been quite stable and fast. And best of all, my programs all have good support for it; that and I'd rather not mess with some of my rather expensive software licenses that I have.

I will agree with you Win7 is certainly better than Vista, however it is not so much better as to justify me spending money and a lot of time to upgrade to win7.

The suggestion for me to downgrade to XP however, was a terrible one. For one, due to some of my software, and some of my hardware, I would be forced to spend money to buy the 64 version of win XP. Which that version, is pretty crappy, due to its instability, poor support.

So I do not think I will upgrade to Win7, I'd prefer to get my money's worth out of vista, and wait till Win8, or 9 rolls along.

Well when I ordered it, it gave me the choice of win 7 or vista (it originally came with it)
So I said i want win 7 cuz vistas gross. I went ahead and edited mah post but I guess I missed one but when I got this baby december 8th. It was win 7 preinstalled.. Unboxing is one of the godly things we can do with our hands.

You see ATI is based off of a 40nm die size architecture. And Nvidia's 200 line is a 55nm.
Ofcource a smaller size is better, but it is more expensive to produce.
Surprisingly ATI is CHEAPER then Nvidia. (Kinda BS or nvidia)
A smaller die size results in a cooler temp and lower power consumption.

Memory wise Ati takes the win to.
The gtx280 has a gddr mem interface. Where the ATi card has gddr5. (Theoretically 5 times faster)

Without a doubt th 5850 is the better card.
There is also the GTX470, but it is more expensive and a bi slower so thats out of the question.

Have you ever needed i7 power though? I've got a phenom II in my rig, and i can watch full blu-ray quality movies, play games at max, ect. Bottom line is that you don't even need a cpu that powerful. I can get the same benchmarks as you with a cpu that cost half the price.

Me too. It's called map optimization. Any map that takes over 30 seconds to compile on a half decent machine needs more optimization. Don't feel bad just cause you blew like $500 USD on an intel cpu that doesnt do much more than my $200 USD AMD cpu.

Anyways that was an old topic while back. To explain.
Back then Nvidia and ATi used different folding at home methods.
The atoms of the Nvidia ones are much smaller then ones of the ATi.
They released an update to make the atoms bigger for the nvidia card and the numbers changed alot. They pretty much has equal scores really.

This is just what I know. Im not taking sides.

DAMNNNN you OCed your CPU right? You should get a AtiHD 5970 XFX 4GB Edition........That will complete your epic PC lol and will actually use your 1000Watt.

heheh. This PC was built over the span of 2 years. I bought the Cpu and case first and then w8ted for boxing day. Then w8ted for the next...
And now just recently made enough money and upgraded to a 5850.
