In 6th grade, my science teacher had a hamster but it was winter vacation (a week) and after we came back, it wasn't moving. Probably froze to death :(

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I remember once I had a bunch of fish but they all died because they started eating their own poop.  :'(

I remember when my brother bought a baby hammerhead shark for his huge ass fish tank and the next day all the other fishes were cut in half or just floating heads/bodies.

I'm sorry though, those are cute little things too :(

My sister had 2 dwarf mice. One day we went on vacation and came back...to only find 2 dead mice. The house was kept at room temperature and they had plenty of food and water. I still don't know how they managed to die.

They must be similar to all the children I looked after, I turn my back for an hour or two and they manage to drown in a puddle or stick their hand into a meat grinder (Delicious sausage though).
