Is Origin worth it?

Well, 2 days until BF3 comes out and I really want it for PC but I've heard a lot of bad things about Origin being some commercial spyware
Is anyone on the forums using Origin and have they had problems with it?

I like steam, but it ALWAYS crashes and freezes, even on my old computer and now on this one.

origin has its bugs but is okay i guess, cant be compared to steam though as it is too basic.
