Trust me, they do it all the time.
Well, I can agree with what you're saying, but at the same time it does cause problems in the server. Might not be huge problems, but it's still there.

What im saying is.
To ge reg on any other server has no impact to gamplay.
That being said making it harder to get reg is fine.
But when looking at Build, it makes things even worse.

Yes I know what you're saying. I understand your worry.
I honestly though don't think that changing the Reg system is that necessary, I just wanted to point out some issues. I think the best solution if the Reg system were to be changed would be in either making another group that only applies to wire build where they only have the tools in wire build which are restricted to Regs, or something along those lines, but can't vote on votes, and their tag doesn't stand out as much. (as stupid as it sounds, when people see that everyone has an orange tag, and one person or two has a blue tag, they automatically assume that they have some power such as admin or something) That could obviously get kind of confusing though, but would also allow it to be harder to get Reg and therefore having less mingy Regs.

The intention with the regular rank, is to get people involved with the community.
It also acts as a buffer, preventing drive-by minges from coming and crashing the build server and leaving.

It is not some exclusive club.

We require they show at least minimal effort (a properly formatted application), as this will weed out anyone that just wants quick access to build tools. The slightly higher effort tends to encourage them to stay and play with us.

- They are not spokesman for Rnd

It is a sign of that they are a regular player. They have invested sufficient time into the server to get that rank.
As it is I feel it is plenty difficult, most in the community seem to have the desire to make it more exclusive so many are negative towards new people joining.

VIP's on the other hand, are people the administration team trusts in their judgement.

Hence the difficulty of getting VIP.

Right now some of you might be thinking, OOO OOO WHY DON'T WE MAKE A RANK BETWEEN REGULAR AND VIP??

I think most of the administration team would say No, to that.

I myself have several reasons for this.

The main reason is I don't want to create some sort of old boys club, to where the regulars feel like second class citizens in comparison.

The increase to VIP and Admin, is not an increase of status. It is an increase in responsibility.

That's a little bit of an exaggeration... we're simply saying that players who join see disruptive Regular members who give a wrong impression on RND, whether that's a fair judgement or not.

They go in disguise.

By that logic, let's not promote ANYBODY! Like I've said, somebody COULD act completely cool until they turn admin and then shit fuck everything to hell so bad Coolz would have to do a hard reset.

No, an admin would be able to permaban pretty much everybody and Coolz would have to restart all server details to revise that.

also holy shit our current avatars are in the same position

I never got the balls to say this but oh well.
This is a thing that bothered me for a while. Do you know how many regular application we get? 1 everyday
Not only that, they get "Approved" only when they got a good format or alot of information and they get approved when we don't even know them well. Most of them a just newbies. How many regulars we got now? Hmm i don't know like 30? You know that's too much right? Is there possibly
a way to make the regulars application more harder to get approved? Atleast make them get known by the community for a while.

This is pretty much what i wanted to say "out loud".

Now discuss. inb4 horrible grammar

Just so you know, not all of the applications get approved so no need to state false information. Another thing, there is no correct format. There are a few essential pieces of information that are required. The rest of the information is for the community to learn more about the applicant. The apps get approved by the positive comments posted, the more the better obviously for the admins to determine if the applicant is really a "regular player" on the servers. The apps also get denied by the lack of comments or having negative comments. And yes like Peetah stated, people do -1 players they have never seen. I don't think another rank is needed nor is there a flaw in the system. It would be most helpful if the community could comment on the apps for feedback.

You said coolz would have to restart "all server details", and I don't see how banning all players would permanently damage ALL the server configurations...
