Sounds like either the virus got to your anti-virus, Or it got to your System32 folder, I personally think it was an anti-anti-virus, That attacked kaspersky, I've never actually ran into this problem, But it could be possible that you had a virus that specifically attacked kaspersky users.
Which can actually be sent directly, If they had all the IP addresses in the kaspersky website, And had the virus specifically designed to outsmart kaspersky, But that still doesn't negate the fact that kaspersky failed. =[
