America gave Japan an opportunity to surrender, or face "Total Annihilation" according to President Truman. *APPARENTLY* Japan refused. It was either one of two situations:
    -Invade Japan, inflict ~10-20 million Japanese Casualties + ~10,000 American
    -Drop two atomic bombs on japan, inflict ~100,000 Japanese Casualties + 0 American.

according to most people:

hiroshima: people tend to think it wasworst thing to ahppen in history of man kind | are they all high? not even close. hell, not even worst to happen in ww2. hell, it was GOOD for the time
and mah favorite example( ), the CNPP: minor fire that got bigger. its happened only a few times and killed relatively few people. and people damn nuclear power for it. yes how many people die from coal, oil, ect? hundreds - thousands a year, more who will die of "natural causes" such as blacklungshit without ever smoking

regular warfare=-1. causes more deaths then nuclear warfare

honestly, nuclear warfare, while being BAD, would help the idea of world peace(well not actual nuclear warfare itself, but the threat of it...). knowing that another country can drop one on you, kinda make you want to be friends...

In my opinion, Japan deserved it. They bombed us and took the lives of our Americans, evidently they bombed the wrong country knowing what forces we could have.

They were the axis. Japan was on Germany's side. It was any time that America would join the war.
So it was Japans duty to fight. And pearl harbour was a naval base not a innocent city.

This thread is dumb and whoever is arguing over the bombs is even more idiotic.
There is NO way to justify either bomb, even if it was for the greater good of the American civilians. It was a mass-killing of purely innocent people that have done NOTHING wrong. Even the Japanese didn't target civilian targets, ffs. You can't kill someone's sister just because he killed a relative of yours.
