Actually, I do. Allll too well

I spent most of my childhood (it felt like to me) being grounded, which meant I couldn't use the computer, no TV (except for the discovery channel), and no friends. It sucked.'

for me it was always things like spelling tests that I did bad on. And I always was terrified of when the grades got to my mother. (She is scary when she is angry)

Even more recently. My last two semesters at college. I have done (poorly would be putting it mildly) bad... on my classes.

Two semesters ago I failed all of my classes. Except for one, Chemistry (I got a C... )

The past semester, I Failed one class, Got an NB (means they didn't have anything to grade me on) on another. Got a B in another Class and a C- in a class I was expecting to get a B to A in.

My GPA is currently at a 2.0, if I get a 1.999 or below, I will be ejected from my degree program.
The degree I am seeking is something I want to get so badly, I can practically feel it in my bones.
I need a 3.2 or higher just to get a job when I graduate.

So now,
I am at my own tipping point in my life.

I can either
A. Scowl at everyone about my bad grades and not achieve one of my dreams.

or

B. Get my ass into gear.

I sure as hell wish I had my mother at college to yell at me when I'm playing video games instead of doing my homework or studying. Or to ground me when I get a bad grade on a test.
First off: GOOD LUCK! I know it is gonna turn out great for you, because you seem like a nice and smart person.
Second I never said i am not doing anything about it.
Third:  i am using Linux live CD after i have studied for all subjects (second shift)
Fourth: I wouldn't say a thing like that "I'm just a big dummy who has no idea what it's like being cut off from the computer by force". As i know every1 has been punished when they were my age. Plus i am not the kind of a person to troll someone on purpose just for fun/make them feel bad.
Unlike some of my schoolmates/other students in other schools or countries. And I wouldn't like to be taken as 1(I know this is unrelated i am just pointing it out)

Why does parents take grades so serious?
In Denmark your responsible too your own grades in school, High school, College and university…If i get an bad grade, its my own fault, the same turns for you… Gettin a bad grade is nawt kewl…

the last option you have is
Don't tell your parents :p

getting you PC taken is gonna suck

best of luck.
This is what i tell them and "don't tell them" tactic only makes it worse for me, bcoz when they see my "report card" (that is not exactly what we have here) They get mad at me for not telling them! This night i think i am gonna be able to play since my mom left the computer on

But as you said yourself, you did rather poorly in your classes, I'm assuming an E is between D and F.

E Means completely failed in other words E = F or E could mean excellent depending on what section of the report card it was written down on which is why highschool moved to the number system to stop confusion (see below where i mention the numbers)

But I'm not sure why his school is even using the letter grades anymore as far as i know all highschools have moved on to use the number grade system -1 to 4+ (and an R for when you really fail) So that leads me to believe he has to be in a grade under grade 8 which in that case he shouldn't care that he failed considering school doesn't mean shit until grade 9

"E" stands between D and F in other words from "2" to "6" i got a "3" 1 1 more than a "fail"

Lol ok then your ranking system is completely different then mine Lol

Our goes like this now (lowest to highest)

R, -1, 1, +1, -2, 2, +2, -3, 3, +3, -4, 4, +4

R is anything below 50% which is an automatic fail.

I like to use grades and school as an analogy to a building; Without a proper, stong base, the building will collaspe. If he doesnt have a strong base in school in grade 8, his later years in school will be extremely difficult to pass and succeed.

I'll agree but my point is that school really doesn't mean anything until grade 9 all grades levels before that are not required for grade 9 grades 1 - 8 are just to hold your kids there durning the day pretty much.. thats why only parents have the option to allow their kids to pass or fail... Teachers can make recommendation if they should pass/fail but the parent has full control over it but once you hit grade 9 which is a require level of education the teacher then has control rather the student pass's or fails.

So if you're like grade 8 drop out you're considered to have no education level what so ever.

Well i was just talking about grade, but either or its still his responsibility to inform the teacher that he doesn't understand so the teacher can provide extra help if needed.

I haven't seen a single number grade since middle school?
Get percentages in everything, report cards use both number and letter grades as an example. (actual marks are all in percentage)
