Yet another karma system thread.



You can't take chances.
You have to be an absolute angel.
Mistakes cost too much.
Rewards aren't rewarding enough.
RDM hasn't gone down.
RDM has a bigger effect.
Not enough rewards.
Too many mistakes.
Crummy Cradle was so popular because of the traitor tester, which people kept voting as to be completely sure somebody was the traitor.
You have to be 125% sure somebody is the traitor to take the chance, and even then they might not be traitor.
You have to not do anything for 2+ hours to get your karma up to acceptable levels.
"x is the traitor!" is useless now that nobody is willing to take the chance.
Sometimes you don't even know why your karma went down because a stray bullet'/buckshot ball bearing hit somebody.

Part of the excitement of TTT is the chance to gamble. Is that person the traitor? Only one way to truly find out. But now the stakes are too high. The only reason I still play RND TTT is because I love the community.

The only people I see defending the karma system are people that as far as I can see don't play the server that often.

Change the karma system back to the old version, keep the perma-karma. Add rewards for defusing C4 / killing Innocents as Traitor.

People voted crummy because it was a fun map, it had stuff do that on it. People RARELY ever used the traitor tester. It took like 5 people over the mic to convince people to actually be smart and use it.

I like the new karma system for this reason and this reason only:

1. Some 9-year old faggot joins and RDMs 4 people.
2. He has 10 karma next round.
3. I get to kill him freely for the next 3 rounds with no consequences. For added effect, drag his body around to look suspicious.
4. Some OTHER faggot kills me because they see a body, and starts an RDM spree.
5. Next round TWO people have less than 100 karma, and I can kill them too.

The karma right now DOES suck. If you see someone killing 10 guys, probably with a high karma, and you go and kill him, and he's innocent, you're completely fucked. You just lost your entire fucking karma for doing something you're supposed to do.

But oh! Wait! There's still a chance that if you get to be a traitor, and kill enough people, you may get your karma to raise a bit.

Oh, no... That's complete bullshit. Because there are no fucking rewards for being a hardcore player. You get nothing but 30 karma a round. And nothing for being a good fucking traitor. If you kill a teammate, you lose karma. If you kill someone whom you're completely sure is the traitor, but ends up being innocent, you lose karma too. The only way to fix those wrongly said 'mistakes', because they are not mistakes for that's what you're supposed, is to wait 10 fucking rounds to get your karma up. Then, you must kill or hurt a traitor. And, what if you have the same luck you had before?


BAM! Back to zero. Because TTT is now a fucking lose-lose betting system.
