This would mean they'd have monetary control over practically any youtube video involving someone in front of a camera. It didn't end well.

Ah I see thank you for explaining.

People really don't think through shit before deciding "hey lets just essentially copyright all of youtube, that couldn't possibly backfire on us in any way."

A bit old, but this is an update from the lawman dudeguy who got very, very involved with all of this: https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/43so7m/lawguy_dudeman_types_stuff_n_junk

All is something. I can maybe see The Fine Bros coming back from this (not a complete train wreck and dropped by their parent company and associates etc), but I feel like they'd still be tending to their wounds (and worsening public appearance due to dislikes, comments, sub drops and general pitchfork-raising).

They got a ton of views though, so if the combined pieces of information from reliable/unreliable sources are at least 90% accurate... it means they're not too worse for wear regarding income.

That is, until the controversy dies down, and everyone who jumped on the un-sub bandwagon forgets they exist for a bit. That kind of sucks.

EDIT: People still seem exceptionally hell-bent on bending hell over The Fine Bros... so maybe the controversy might actually play out well for them (?).
