What happend to gmod?

This, and don't be jerks to newcomers.  Be as welcoming as possible.  We just need a new batch of community members, and I'm noticing that there are a couple, such as Sanders2, who appear to want to be active.  New players will help take the place of departing old members.  Like I said a while ago, this is all a cycle.  People leave, and people join, and the people who used to be server noobs (like me) advance in rank.

We should really try to get new Gamemodes going besides TTT and Fretta. From what I've found out, everyone in gmod is getting bored of the same old TTT and Fretta and Zombie stuff. As far as I know, we have some pretty talented scriptwriters still somewhat active in the community who could possibly pull together something.

One huge problem is that rnd servers dont show up on legit clients only pirated ones, at least for me, if they were on legit then people could search for us as for now the only way i can get in is typing the ip in the console

They show up on the "legit ones"...as far as I know, last time I played.
I haven't seen them online in a long time unfortunately. But anyawy, this is how I became a member of rANdOm - I had a pirated Garry's Mod and rANdOm was the only servers I could play on.

same here well they were the only decent server and im very proud to say that on the member list by date of 27 pages of members im on page 2, and i just tried searching for rnd servers tonight and couldnt get there with out typing the ip in.

Try using legacy browser, the new one is horrible for finding specific servers.

i do use the legacy browser ever since i went legit i havent been able to find it oh well i guess its just me
