What if someone was actually a good admin but still contributed?
In my opinion Admin is perfectly fine as it is.

Then they would still be admin because I imagine the contributor rank being below admin or possibly even VIP rank.
I'm not suggesting that we should replace admin rank with that, I'm suggesting for it to be a completely new rank but as far as I see I don't think it has a lot of support including from coolz.

Contributor would be a separate rank so that people who don't need/want/deserve admin don't apply/get admin because it isn't necessary for them. If there's an admin who makes contributions and administrates, they're already above the rank of contributor and thus just remain as the rank of Admin. It's not meant to replace the admin rank by any means.
EDIT: Also, in addition to what Prox said, it would be similar to how the VIP rank works on the forum. Nothing more than a title, no special permissions, etc. specifically on the forum.

The only reason there is a VIP group is because it does have additional permissions.

Reminds me that we did once have only Respected, Admins, and I think Super Admin/Owner but that was it. Then came in Reg and VIP and out with Respected. So the system's already kind of gone through some of the transitions and what not suggested just not to the extents mentioned.
