So I've noticed this with DarkRP

I always felt our server could do DarkRP better. Unfortunately, the gamemode has too many exploits, and isn't really being considered. DarkRP draws so many people (maybe not always the best people, but people none the less) and I always found it to be very fun. I can only imagine how we'd make it work, especially without all the donation bullshit.

I used to love DarkRP.  I loved doing stuff like building games and casinos with wiremod.  However, all that's kinda hard to do with every tool I need is restricted.  I don't understand why the servers just allow the tools and permaban anyone who abuses them.  Otherwise, I would play a bit more DarkRP.

That is where our darkrp server could be different, we could have no restricted tools but strict rules and strict vip/admin supervision when using or abusing the tools.

rnd has had a few RP servers in the past and none went well.

From what I've experienced with RP servers, they are only good for minging/exploiting and getting a laugh out from pissing people off.

Sorry guys. I really don't think it'll work. There's already thousands of RP servers around and it'll need constant maintenance, admin monitoring and a map that isn't rp_downtown to do some good. Though even if a server was to be made it would be played mostly by our VIPs/Admins for maybe a few weeks until they decide to go back to Lol. Despite your thoughts of "Oh we're going to do this properly" and "I won't abandon the server once everyone else does" I really doubt it's going to be worth the effort.

I know this stuff started quiet a while ago, but holy hell, every DarkRP server I join, the tools are always restricted to Donators/Admins. Almost every, god damn semi-productive tool, you cannot use without "hey guise plz donate $20 first". Special tools and easily mingeable tools I can understand, but a tool like Axis? Apart from all the other shit DarkRP has permanently burned onto its name, the potential to do something actually creative and fun in DarkRP is really narrowed down now that servers have adopted this custom. It gets even more boring/narrowed down when the big gmod community servers come into play (everyone donates for admin nowadays). I find it just complete crap that sever owners keep pushing these stupid initiatives on a server they can't support themselves, but rather rely on donations for (which isn't such a good idea in the first place). Those have been the downfall of so many actually fun gmod servers and the owners usually blame the community for not enough donations.

Restrictions are just part of the gamemode, but you should understand that servers can be quite costly to run, and donations can really help out with that.

Some charge more than they should though.  It's just a matter of finding the right server.

It's just the ones were they solely run off of donations and have no supportive income to back it up in case things take a turn for the worse. That's where they go full on jew mode, strip any remotely useful tool and strip any useful feature in order to expect people to donate. Which in this case, it's far beyond me how server owners manage to pull that.

I had totally forgotten about global chat. Unless coolz has some type of conflicting stuff with the global chat, why dont we bring it back? Yeah, we only have 3 servers, but it would still be nice to have.
