Votemute Ability for VIPs

So Coolz, cake, and I were in ts3 and were discussing the new updates to flood. One of which are a voteskip build and vote extend build.

Somehow we got into the topic of micspam and we thought about it and decided that the votemute system would be a good idea if the rest of the community accepted it.

Here is how we decided it would work:
-Only VIPs can start.
-Majority must vote yes.
-Mutes people for 5 minutes if approved  and if they evade it would be extended (how long is undecided).
-Votemutes can be started only every so often.
-Votemuting would be just like votekick/voteban so if abused, you can be reported and demoted.

So now,

Discuss.

Eh.
I am really not sure about this one.

The main problem would probably be simply that the definition of what is mic-"spam" is different from person to person. One might consider a certain song mic spam, while others consider it absolutely amazing.
Or people yelling into their mics, but still contributing to the game - for example people that tend to yell when they get shot at, which some people could take as mic spam.
Or, one of the most important topics, little kids using their mics. Many consider that as extremely annoying and would LOVE to get them muted - inb4cyberbullying.

Some mic spam is annoying, I agree - mostly the ones with terrible quality.
The thing is - sure, you say now you can report, but what happens when someone reports someone for a wrong votekick? "Dude, it's a kick."
Why are you sure that people (and admins) won't just say "dude, it's just a mute, don't use your mic/mic spam for five minutes".

All in all, I doubt this function would bring more than people complaining about it.

Pressing ESC, then playerlist, then mute in-game voice is still faster than typing votemute, selecting the name and naming a reason.

tl;dr: not sure if want.

EDIT:
And what about people that just keep mic spamming after getting muted?
I'm sorry, but I just don't see any use in this.

Hence the word "vote". Simple, if you think a song is good...God gave Bill Gates/Steve Jobs the idea to make a nifty little program. We know that program as "Windows Media Player and iTunes/Quicktime". Use it.

Objection overruled.

>implying I still mic spam.
>implying everyone doesn't just vote "yes" as soon as a vote pops up.
The main point in my post wasn't even spamming songs that much.
Objection is not overruled.

If your going to do a >implying quote, it has to make sense.

If people like the song/noise, they will vote no. If they dont like it, then they will vote yes. If a majority of the server votes yes, then thats that. The people who voted no have to live with that fact.

And simple, if a VIP defines mic-spam differently....

Votemute
Vote
"Vote".

Then the person can manually mute the player.

Objection re-overruled.

Eh, I'm not strong enough against this to go further into this argument.
I'm not against its core, but I just don't really see the point of it.
Still, just because it has the word "vote" in it, doesn't mean it's fair - we all know that people tend to just vote yes because they can.

Then thats a risk you have to take and hope idiots aren't on the server. Im pretty sure people know the difference between flat-out mic-spamming and having shitty mic quality.

You don't play too often, do you?
People are quite stupid when it comes to these kind of things.

So why not make it voting for Regulars+ or even VIP+ if necessary

Well gee, I know that 60% of regulars tend to hit the yes button without thinking/doin it for the lulz. But hopefully you have people who are actually smart on.

Even Regulars+ tend to just vote yes ...
Proof?

As said, I'm gonna stay out of this topic now so others can voice their opinions.

Why can't you just mute them manually instead of this vote-muting thingy [when some people might not even vote].

Oh btw, I also scream into the mic sometimes for fun, not mic-spam :P
