Point is, that's why there's a poll. The only argument I see against it is the Player List mute.

I don't really care, I just go with what the poll says.

So far, no one that says yes has brought a single valid argument of why it should be implemented.

And im the only one who's holding up my side of the debate so far :C

That's one more argument against it than there's for it.
There's NO point at all in this, and people voting yes just don't know how to mute.

Your "arguement" of player list mute does not contradict the votemute, it is just simply another way to do it. You haven't made a single valid point against it specifically and we haven't made one for it. In that case, it should be up to the poll.

Also, the MAIN person against the votemute just so happens to be one of the or the most frequent mic spammer in the server.

Coincidence? I think not. If you want to listen to music that is loud and annoying please use an ipod or something. There is no reason to make anyone else hear it as well.

When you are in the middle of a round and someone starts mic spamming. What happens when you go in for that 5 seconds to mute the player and get killed? That is all the time a traitor needs to strike.

Yes, it does contradict the votemute - because instead of affecting the entire server, all you affect by simply muting a person yourself is you. No one knows that you muted the person and the people that like the mic spam can still listen to it.

Your super-duper argument consisting of me being the "biggest mic spammer" on the server is invalid like nothing named before - I did use to mic spam, true. Have I mic spammed in the last weeks/months? I think not. Some people like to listen to music without having to exit their GMod all the time, and I don't see why it's necessary to prevent them from doing sol.

Well well, yes, mic spamming in the middle of the round CAN get you killed - but, tell me my friend, how is typing votemute, then selecting a player faster than doing that?
Exactly, it is not.

tl;dr: my "arguement" of playerlist mute does contradict the votemute. It's not another way to do it, it's THE way to do it, and there's no reason to bring any other arguments into this; there's not a single valid point by doing this, people know how to mute.

Don't fucking start fixing stuff that isn't broken.

Hmm you do realize playing music isn't mic spamming right? Thats why coolz added HLDJ. if it was mic spamming HLDJ would be disabled.

and BTW I'm against this too and i don't mic spam

Like i said above people are going to mute people just for having a convo, they will also mute someone just for having a high pitch voice. Now thats not a fair reason to mute someone and it will happen, if this system comes into affect. Don't kid yourself thinking it won't!

Use the player list, its there for a reason

The only reason why people want this is because of people playing music or having a high pitch voice

neither is kickable or muteable therefore this system is fail all around.

Evidently you dont understand.

TAKING THE TIME TO MANUALLY PLAYERLIST MUTE SOMEONE IS NOT WHAT WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT.

There is no point on playing music for the whole server if you expect to be muted. Sure you have appropriate times to play some quote or epic battle music for a 1 v. 1 on TTT, but really, Votemuting still has the same concept of muting. Just everyone else doesn't have to mute manually and stop what they are doing in the server.

No-one cares about the time honestly. I dont want to start a daily routine of muting people who mic-spam thank you very much. If you dont want the person to be muted then simple, vote no. If everyone on the server votes yes, then suxs2beu.

tl;dr who gives a shit about the time it takes to mute, it's a vote. People dont want to hear mic-spam, then they dont want to. If a majority of the server votes yes to a mute, then thats that.

What with the arguments?!?! It's not too difficult to decide on something simple like this. I say votemute is unnecessary, as it mutes for everyone rather than individuals.

End of story.

Some people may like the music and don't want it muted, unless it's Justin Bieber.

Then that's why we have a wonderful invention called "The Internet". Lern2WMP/iTunes.

I wouldn't consider playing music with HLDJ Mic-spamming, unless they play like at ultra high volume that makes you deaf or something.

That's why HLDJ was made; to play music so everybody can hear it and to enjoy it [unless...yea].

PS-Sorry Shawn if I just restated what you just said ><

Hai guise, I's come to save all your asses.

Scratch this shitty idea. We already have a way to mute people's microphones. What would really come in handy would be a chat mute.

Aah, you never thought about that eh! Always thinking about "halp halp micspammer!", that's why you have the bloody player list. But the only way to prevent people from flooding the chat, is the server way. But people can still talk a lot without necessarily flooding.

THAT is where the votemute comes in. It may not shut his microphone, but it will sure prevent him from writing. And a good thing would also be to make TWO different votemutes, e.g. votemute1 mutes the subject for 5 minutes, whereas votemute2 mutes it for 1 hour.
