Your eyes are closed, right?
Yep. But my thoughts just keep going and going...
I was thinking about trying rain forest sound music or some shit, but I know I'd probably just keep thinking on that.
I actually haven't heard someone with the same problem before. I'm really the exact same to the point that it can cause a decent amount of problems. The only time I actually sleep is when I'm like completely wiped out and exhausted in some way and my body just shuts down while I'm in the process of thinking. But yea, my mind is always going constantly and I'm literally never not thinking of something. The thought of actually having a decent moment without it and trying to actually makes me anxious and does often prevent me from sleeping. I probably sound psychotic or something now but oh well.
And I was really wanting to get sleeping pills before to help with that shit because it's really debilitating at some points but there's really no safe way of doing that. Especially because of my age. A lot of sleeping pills require you to be at least 18 and they still cause problems and it's still very easy to get addicted to them. I even had loads of tests done before though to see if there was any physical problem and there wasn't. Instead I got prescribed some minor anti-depressants a quite a while ago which was supposed to try to level out some hormones or some shit even though I wasn't depressed. Made no change.
Back to what people are recommending though. They're all generally minor aids when it comes to that. Though you should do most of those simply because it's healthy and may actually give you a better/longer rem sleep like melatonin. But yea, just don't go thinking "oh if I do all these things at once my problem should be solved!" because unfortunately, it won't. I think the best thing that you can do if you want a quick solution though is to work out really hard and get yourself exhausted. Like, to the point that your body aches if possible. Obviously to a healthy extent though. Oddly enough it hasn't actually been helping me recently though. At first it did, now it doesn't seem to really make any change. Still worth a try and either way it'll improve your overall health which is obviously good but just being overall healthy should improve your sleeping too. In general it allows your body to regenerate better with full rem sleep and such, though it might not necessarily help you falling to sleep.
Also you should check out kava roots. You should be able to find them in pills or even tea or something. It's supposed to help similarly to how melatonin does but I haven't tried it yet.
"The only time I actually sleep is when I'm like completely wiped out and exhausted in some way"
100% the exact same way for me. The only time I can ever fall straight asleep is when I've been up for 24+ hours. Maybe I just always have too much energy... idk.
Insomnia isn't really worth taking pills for and such from what I've heard.(Most things are since the side effects are a lot worse like nightmares and other crap.) I've had problems sleeping ever since I was a kid. It can take 20-50 minutes for me to sleep. It's awful when it's been an hour and I'm still laying in bed, at that point I usually get up and do something for an hour or so figuring it's not time.
Yea. I think I will try some of them like the milk thing and working out thing(usually I'm always super comfy in bed, so I don't get up, maybe should do it before getting in bed.); I imagine though in time like you mentioned, I'd grow use to it and it'd no longer work.
Gah, I hate tea. I have heard it does help though.
I'm supposed to drink/eat all this stuff before brushing my teeth right? lol
