Trouble in Terrorist Town

I have about 4 suggestions, so I decided to just condense them all into this post instead of making 4 separate posts.

First, with this new map-voting system, I think it would be nice if there was vote protection again where you would have to wait 10 rotations before voting for the map again.  That would help prevent people from choosing Minecraft 5 times in 2 hours.

Second, I have visited several other TTT servers, and have found the Jihad Bomb to be a very fun traitor weapon.  I can't see any way that it could go wrong, and it would just add to the fun, because it's more fun to die by Jihad Bombs than regular C4's.

Also, I was just imagining a new traitor weapon.  I don't know if it's already made in some other servers, but this is the idea:  a health station that the traitor spawns, and it acts like a normal hp station.  However, when it reaches a certain charge, such as 90, it would blow up, having the effect of a C4.  I guess the downside to an exploding hp station is that no one would expect it, unless they saw the t place it...

Lastly, I suggest that either we remove the M3 Shotgun or improve it, because right now, it's absolute crap.  I don't really ever see anyone using it.  Although it would do no harm just to leave it as is, I'd rather get a different gun or better M3 in its place.

So that's it.

I do agree with adding the vote protection back on the TTT, but my opinion on jihad is still the same, I don't think we need it, I just never really liked it.
As for the new T weapon, the idea is pretty interesting but perhaps the explosion radius shouldn't be the same as c4 and M3 could definitely be improved in some way.

I also have a few other things to say myself, first, I think that you shouldn't be required to crouch when firing the barret for a few reasons: many people get confused trying to figure out how to use that gun and while it does more damage then scout, it also has a much bigger recoil, a slower firing speed and if I remember correctly a clip of only 5 bullets.

Then there seems to be this issue with lost temple map.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the issue, you lose about 80HP almost if not every time you get teleported to that place, I remember it used to be fxed but now it seems that it is happening again and it pretty much happens every time. It would be nice if it would be fixed.

I think so far as T weaps go tripmines are fun, and should be considered.

So far the reasons I've seen against jihad bombs just seem hollow, or ill conceived.

We've discussed the Jihad bomb a fair bit, and there are a few problems with it which must be changed if it is added.

One being that you don't get any kills counted with it, the damage logs will count it as suicide and no karma will be lost. This means any innocent can exploit the loopholes minge with it (yes, I have done it before)

Other than that I'm all for this, along with a slight buff for the M3. I'm one of the people who actually use it.

I think it should only be like 7 or something. It's annoying when join your favorite map, and it switches maps and you can't play that map for another 2 hours...

I've been on this server for wrong I'm not very use to them. No opinion on them really.

This sounds AWESOME! The only downside is if people ask the D's if they placed the health station there.

The voting blacklist works... partially.

I haven't figured out what exactly is causing the problem but the majority of the recently played maps are removed.

That is still something I have to look into.

So that's it.

For the color red, it doesnt need the 10 round rotation thingy... its on other ppl's choice of they "rtv --- Rock To Vote" or "rtve --- Rock To Vote Extend (i think)" (Nah...)

For yellow, I don't like Jihads... it may have a 50/50 chance of costing ur T round w/o killing anyone since as they hear it... obviously they avoid you also when you pull it out.. and "attack" it to other players.... they see you holding it, and hear the scream then they kill you, mostly on Jihad kills it may nearly be 1, C4 can be planted in secret spots... Jihad is more of a Crowded-Place-Wep but ppl rarely stick together unless provens+dets. (Nah...)

For the color orange, i've seen it in other servers but they mostly removed it but it might be a great wep... its like when you "heal" from it it explodes, sometimes with other ppl who want to heal, it may explode 3-4 ppl... that want to heal... so I think this may be good.

For the color blue, obviously Stone may be the only one using it as you see... although I sometimes use it (make everyone get a chance to meet it). It may have a crappy look/firing, but it has high damage.. might as well improve it. (Nah... (on the remove)) (I think we just need to improve it)

Well, Whenever I've used the Jihad, it always works.  That's part of the challenge of the weapon, finding the correct time to use it.  A solution to not letting innos get a hold of it is scripting it so that somehow when the holder of it dies in any way, the bomb automatically disintegrates.

Yes, the M3 does suck. I've actually confirmed that it's 100% inferior to the Shotgun and I don't know if it has changed or anything. I also don't have anything to say about the voting system. As for the rest of your ideas...

Jihads are kind of annoying and constantly keep everyone on their toes. It's pretty much an explosive knife that can kill you at the cost of the killer.

Knife:
A silent kill. It punishes players who stray away from the rest of the group. It serves a tactical purpose for Traitors in that it helps them take out major foes, serve as an emergency-death, and can cause MAJOR infighting if used creatively.

Jihad: A loud kill that can also kill other players nearby. It it punishes large groups of players from staying in narrow corridors (Which is VERY BAD for Traitors if larger, wider areas are available). It serves a tactical purpose for Traitors in that it will kill people in a small range, which allows for them to dispose groups of people at the cost of their life. This weapon is also more 'fun' to use because it has a very loud, very noticeable "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOlol" and can be used to say "Hey, over here!".

NOTE: The Jihad was one of the first things to be removed from default TTT.
NOTE2: I have never been on a TTT server that dropped the Jihad when the Traitor dies.

I've seen the exploding HP station on other servers, but I'm not sure if we want it. Every Traitor weapon affects the game and the participants to some degree or another... I'm unsure how it will turn out but I don't see as many "random negatives" about this idea. It might be good to test it and then judge the community reaction.

EDIT: Removed the spoiler tags.

People crowd together a lot.  Come play on |nXs| - same crowding habits on the maps we're familiar with, you'll see how a strategically timed jihad can hurt [especially when I'm dishing it out].

On dust I was last T, 9 innos left - against all odds I jihaded in a "oh fuck it" way - ended up missing only 1 -  ducked out of the way.  Good blast radius.

The thing is, Jihads can fail - so can knives, poltergeists, newton launchers, the fact they can fail is no reason enough to say they should not be added IMO.  If you want to spend your T round by trying to suicide - why should the fact that it could fail stop you from being able to?

win?

im not sure if that would work tough.... and also there probably are easier ways to code it.

Or why not just leave it like it is on other servers?  The thing about it is that the weapon is only as good as the user - if he can time it right, and sneak up on the right group of people in the right spot and not get killed, success - if not failure, I don't exactly see the problem.

As for the people who inevitably will say jihads are op:

Please learn how the jihad bomb works.

- You are bound to it - once you start setting it off you can not stop it [though you CAN switch to an incendiary grenade and throw it right before explding - did that with a SimTex on |nXs| once :D]
- You can still be killed before it goes off
- The blast does not go through walls, or even props - unlike C4 - and thus is easy to avoid unless people around you are morons.
- Unlike C4 it fucks your karma up if you kill your T buds with it.

The biggest problem, I think, is if an inno happens to get hold of one.  This is why I suggested that it be disentigrated automatically if its original holder dies.
