I got my room back today (finally) and so I'm free again to play DayZ. However, I'm going to try to get into a good habit of homework then games, so I don't know how long it will be till I start playing again

Okay guyz. So I got my DayZ thing running.

I was wondering if you can answer some questions of mine.

1a) Why can't I use ARMA 2 OA to play it? IT always says bad server or  something. So does that mean I have to use DayZcommander?
1b) Does that mean I won't be able to use steam? it hasn't been working... and I get lonely. ;_;

2) How do I change my name on it? For some odd reason it is using my computer name and I don't want it using that.

1a) You have to get the beta patch; http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

1b) You have to set launch options to play in steam.

2) If the launch option thing didn't work, go to the main menu in Arma 2 OA, and make a new Player Profile.
