Zeleno is close. Our camp is roughly 700m north of Myshkino.

All are welcome, but please let us know your in-game name before showing up. Or we'll shoot.

Also, we need all sorts of car parts; engines, wheels (most important), scrap metal.

Anyone who helps provide these items shall be loved and adored

I CAN'T ENJOY GAMES WHERE I CAN'T TELEPORT USING MY FIST AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO STOP TIME.

I JUST WANT TO SLASH ZOMBIES WITH MY ASSASSINS SWORD, IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK?

That was probably the most fun gaming session I've had with this game.

That was so intense.

We do need to work on teamwork though...or we'll all get wiped out again.

Problem. I lost the car. I can't find it in the forest. I haven't moved it though

So I'm at the camp. Was able to find Juan and save him. After he left, I went off to scavenge at Vybor. On the way though I found a cow, so I killed it so I could give Juan some meat. However, on the way back to the car, I got lost...

So basically, I'm near camp whenever we play again with a lot of meat (saving for Juan)

 Current group members

Deacon
Yellow
Lavenchie
Me
Axule
Marie
Tiger
Sabb
Nuclear
TehHank
Blah
Snivy
Degtyarev

At least the people that have played with us, also I'm considering the idea of having two or
Three groups with a designated leader, today everything went to shit as soon as left
Considering that deacon will not be on as much, leaders (I think) should be

Deacon/Deg(When Deacons not on), me and (if we have 3 groups) Snivy also because how snivy isn't on as much anymore.

Still your not supposed to go running straight through a town with SIX people. There was a reason why I only took tiger to get Marie, too many people will attract unwanted attention.

Also I'll be home in about 10-20 minutes to get people.

So anyone wanna fill me in on what happened?

Well I had to go to the stores with my mom, before that I was leading and we were planning on taking a tire to Deg because he found a car, but then Sabb was in the town we just passed. I had to leave and put Lavenchie in charge because he knows the map and where camp is. I told him to take the tire to Deg and pick up Sabb. When I went on ts3 about 1 hour later l, everyone died. Lavenchie led everyone through the town which only Marie and Lavenchie survived, but Marie went back to save tiger which got hurt and is low on blood. Lavenchies whereabouts are unknown. But I'm guessing Deg managed to fix the car on 47.

GG
Title: Re: DayZ revival
Post by: Juan_Ambriz on November 12, 2012, 04:23:16 PM
Yeah i think i might be done lol

Basically what happened: i was on my way back to camp when people saw someone in the truck, they shot at it and suddenly EVERYONE was teleported to the hackers location, i killed 6 people that were shooting at me. we got reteleported at the same area about 2 more times. the last time someone was driving the truck away and i killed the guy in it, i was suddenly teleported back to camp, with 4 other random guys. i ran into the trees and got shot, i shot one of there guys. i ran up the mountain kiilled two other guys leaving one.

i had my ironsight on him when i was instakilled, like no bullet shot just instadead, he wasnt even looking at me.

We can assume the cars are stolen, i may check later tonight. As lavenchie said yellow took the motocycle and drove into a forrest, we dont know where but he is with it. If he still have the motorcycle ill still play, but i lost everything,

Conranos, Lavnechie and Yellow are still alive the only ones that died were me and Deg. but now i have the bandit skin on.

Edit
what we lost

A Ural
A Motorcycle
Old Hatchback
GAZ
an Offroad Truck

AS50
4 AWS's
GPS's
NVG's
and a lot of more supplies.

On the way back though I scoped the base and found someone in a ghillie suit snooping around, I attempted to shoot him but somehow missed I got my zeroing and everything but still missed about every shot I had. He managed to shoot me I passed out then hid behind a tree bandaged and tried shooting again the problem is I had to get off and couldn't kill him. Expect most of our things to be stolen unless you manage to join right now and get rid of him

Tomorrow we MUST find a new base deacon and I think the place where snivys base used to be would be a good place.

I'm really shaky right now lol that's fight was intense especially considering the fact I did not kill him.

I logged in, grabbed a gun from the Ural, and ran out far enough to where I could keep an eye on both cars from a decent distance. No one shot at me, and no one showed up from the time I was watching the cars. Whoever they were, either logged off or ran away. I would stay to keep an eye out longer, but I got homework I have to finish.

It's a good spot, we never had anyone find us.

The only vulnerability is helicopters and hackers, really.

It's also a pain on fuel, but again, we were never found until hackers showed up.

Well tomorrow I'm hoping on finding the motorcycle, and I can go ahead and look for a new location

To many fucking people have found our base since the hackers.

I'm still mad even though I got my white offroad back, it's heavily damaged, the fucker must have crashed into all the trees and bush's in the getaway.

Well, I'll be on later today after school, before Juan gets on due to timezones, I'll post the damage report when I get on.
I know for sure we need
Fueltank Parts x1
Engine Parts x 2
ScrapMetal x ? (Probably around 4/5)
Ghillie Suits (whoever still  needs them)

We're good on Food, and medical supplies but we have no Antibiotics in case some-one gets sick, so try to be careful with that as well.

That or 4 people unloaded 2+ mags of their gun into it. It was probably the bush.
Ive got an idea for a new location, I hid a few dozen vehicles over the months with only 1 hacker finding it, thanks to its location off the dayzdb map.
Ill make my way to camp when I get home.

I'm still at the old camp where the Ural and the other cars were before. I couldn't leave though because it was pitch black. The yellow car was with me though, unless someone came and got it. I could use that to catch up.

Okay, just checked out the cars, We have the Hatchback and the Ural still, Maybe the red one and the Truck (not sure on their status)

But we need to fully repair the Hatchback.
And the Hull and Fuel on the Ural is red.
We have no working vehicles atm so we have to gather supplies on foot.

Alright time for dat update

We now have:

A Hellicopter
A Ural
Bike
Old Hatchback (Sort of)
White Offroad Pickup Truck (Sort Of)
ATV (Sort Of)

We basically have every item back again.

Old hatchback is on the road between Lopatino and Vybor, it is missing gas and the Hull is red

White offroad is at green mountain coordinates 41(X)/33(Y) it is missing two tires and hull is light orange

The motorcycle i broke when barely hitting a fence, i hacker got in it got hit by zombies and exploaded lol

The ATV i think is still in pustoshka Deg left it to take the Ural.

i think we are finally getting our shit together lol

How many of you are actually experienced with piloting it?

Just asking. I think Deg has the most actual DayZ experience out of all of us. Back in our old group, Sanders and Nailcanon were the primary pilots with me and Deg as emergency backups. Deg had to fly it a few times if I remember right.

I got very good in normal ArmA. I was a blackhawk pilot more often than not.

As far as dayz, I've never done it. But it seems fairly simple enough, keep off the ground enough to avoid desync problems.

We are now in search for a new server.
For the entire time I was on I found a single server that no soul joined except for deacon and I
The server is "US 2247" just put "2247" in filter options.

I don't think base should be their because it is a recruit server which means people can see where you from about 1000Meters.
But nonetheless as deacon stated "It's good if you want to go on and Dick around"
Like I said all day that I've been on I haven't seen a single soul join it.

If you find a good empty server that seems dead post it.

I promise you I'll start actively playing again if we do this.

The fun I got from DayZ is the same that I got from games like Fallout and Stalker,

Exploring.

I already know every inch of chernarus like the back of my hand, know where all the loot is, and know the best ways to get from place to place.

Aside from "showing someone the ropes", there's not much to do now.

I know the custom map servers have private hives, but I mean really, who cares. I just want a new experience. It's also why I've been leaning to WarZ as opposed to DayZ.

Namalsk has a gauss rifle.
So.
Yaknow.

Edit: Found a helicopter. It was in the forest. As I took off, it swung back and forth rapidly while hitting trees, turning everything red. I got out, and it fixed itself magically, and as I tried to take off again, it flipped upside down, rolled back over, and I took off like a damn wizard. Without my antitorque, I spun at a rate of ~360 degrees/sec, over a forest, while rapidly tilting back and forth, while traveling -50 to 200mph. I didnt land safely.

Smaller isnt necesarly a bad thing. Its largly a forest biome (Correct?), which makes it feel larger when running. However the road map disappoints me, and I think it will make it feel tiny sadly. Worth a try.

Part of why i liked cherno so much is because it was huge. takistan huge. it also reminds me of the forests of my family's cabin, so i love that feel. that being said i'm a closequarters fan so this should be fun. I vote namalsk.

Well thats good, because I played it for a bit, explored every town, camp, etc in 3 hours. Its kind of awful in my opinion.
Lingor is at the top of my list for maps Ive played so far. Its as good as chernarus, if not a bit better, but its different.

I got it set up but it's a fucking pain in the ass.

If deacon decided to stay in chernorus I'll gladly stay with him, it will be like the good ol days when is just me and him against the world

Of course I could also play Lingor since I installed it (after 3 fucking hours)

Commander actually turned out to be the best thing ever for me...Its a simple GUI to install things, including the mod maps. All I had to do was set it to launch with steam and change the steam command line from @dayz to @dayzlingor

I actually can play either map now

Lingor is actually a really nice map. I still prefer Namalsk because of it's difficulty to survive, but Lingor is just as fun. It can be a bit annoying, however, when you have to swim island to island.

no

silenced weapons are incredibly difficult to come by.

You need to die about 10 times before you even halfway understand what is happening. It is incredibly frustrating...but sooo addicting.

Certain guns are definite "no"s

Lee Enfields
Side by side (double barrel) shotguns are among the loudest.

Your hatchet is technically silent, as is your compound crossbow...but they have obvious limitations.

It's more like avoid towns entirely, when you do make town runs, never open fire unless you want to ring a dinnerbell.

Really, those guns you're going to be carrying around are really only to be used against hostile players as opposed to zombies.

:O a Crossbow. That sounds pretty awesome and handy. Though I imagine like everything in the game ammo is very scarce.

Ammo isn't too scarce, but DayZ uses a box inventory system. One magazing of, say, an assault rifle, takes up the same space as a single crossbow bolt. You won't be able to carry around much of it, but it's a one shot kill and silent.

Really? The few videos I saw looked like they used the somewhat silent weapons in towns.
Again, ammo for silent weapons is pretty rare, and the silent weapons themselves are even rarer.

Just keep your ears open and make sure to listen to what the others are saying and you'll be fine.

There is none. It's a sandbox.

Yikes. That kinda sucks..

So you find them like once every 4 games?

Just keep your ears open and make sure to listen to what the others are saying and you'll be fine.
I can do that!

There is none. It's a sandbox.
So no kind of objective? Just walk around and do stuff?

Title: Re: DayZ revival

Yup, which is why it's better to keep a weapon that does make noise in case SHTF. That crossbow won't help you too well against a hostile player.

So you find them like once every 4 games?
What do you mean by "every 4 games"? It's more about knowing where to look and hoping you get lucky than anything.

I can do that!
Good.

So no kind of objective? Just walk around and do stuff?
Nope, not really. Like I said, it's just a sandbox. The great thing about the game is the experience it provides though. The setting, combined with the fact it's a military simulator makes a great combination for a zombie apocalypse simulator. It's all about surviving with your bros.

Sd ammo is common enough if you loot enough. I found a dozen stanag SD yesterday at one base. The problem is the use. Unless yourre swimming in the stuff, its better to use a glock or pdw (AND NOT THE M9). They are amazing for PKing in towns however, as you can fire all you want without worrying much about zed, however the other guy will

Okay guyz. So I got my DayZ thing running.

I was wondering if you can answer some questions of mine.

1a) Why can't I use ARMA 2 OA to play it? IT always says bad server or  something. So does that mean I have to use DayZcommander?
1b) Does that mean I won't be able to use steam? it hasn't been working... and I get lonely. ;_;

2) How do I change my name on it? For some odd reason it is using my computer name and I don't want it using that.
Title: Re: DayZ revival

1a) You have to get the beta patch; http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php (http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php)

1b) You have to set launch options to play in steam.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

2) If the launch option thing didn't work, go to the main menu in Arma 2 OA, and make a new Player Profile.
