ha

no

silenced weapons are incredibly difficult to come by.

You need to die about 10 times before you even halfway understand what is happening. It is incredibly frustrating...but sooo addicting.

Yea, but certain items and more quiet then others right? :o

I've heard. It was one of the reasons I wanted to make a PC even though I didn't own the game. I fell upon a copy today for a pretty good trade.

Certain guns are definite "no"s

Side by side (double barrel) shotguns are among the loudest.

Your hatchet is technically silent, as is your compound crossbow...but they have obvious limitations.

It's more like avoid towns entirely, when you do make town runs, never open fire unless you want to ring a dinnerbell.

Really, those guns you're going to be carrying around are really only to be used against hostile players as opposed to zombies.

We're going to have to have him run the gauntlet you know.

This could be fun.

Yea, so I've heard.

:O a Crossbow. That sounds pretty awesome and handy. Though I imagine like everything in the game ammo is very scarce.

Really? The few videos I saw looked like they used the somewhat silent weapons in towns.

I'll be the retard falling behind most likely. I'll be good bait. lol

Curious. What is the "goal" for DayZ. To live another day or what? (Or maybe rob as many people as you can?)

Ammo isn't too scarce, but DayZ uses a box inventory system. One magazing of, say, an assault rifle, takes up the same space as a single crossbow bolt. You won't be able to carry around much of it, but it's a one shot kill and silent.

Really? The few videos I saw looked like they used the somewhat silent weapons in towns.
Again, ammo for silent weapons is pretty rare, and the silent weapons themselves are even rarer.

Just keep your ears open and make sure to listen to what the others are saying and you'll be fine.

There is none. It's a sandbox.

Yikes. That kinda sucks..

So you find them like once every 4 games?

Just keep your ears open and make sure to listen to what the others are saying and you'll be fine.
I can do that!

There is none. It's a sandbox.
So no kind of objective? Just walk around and do stuff?

Yup, which is why it's better to keep a weapon that does make noise in case SHTF. That crossbow won't help you too well against a hostile player.

So you find them like once every 4 games?
What do you mean by "every 4 games"? It's more about knowing where to look and hoping you get lucky than anything.

I can do that!
Good.

Nope, not really. Like I said, it's just a sandbox. The great thing about the game is the experience it provides though. The setting, combined with the fact it's a military simulator makes a great combination for a zombie apocalypse simulator. It's all about surviving with your bros.

Sd ammo is common enough if you loot enough. I found a dozen stanag SD yesterday at one base. The problem is the use. Unless yourre swimming in the stuff, its better to use a glock or pdw (AND NOT THE M9). They are amazing for PKing in towns however, as you can fire all you want without worrying much about zed, however the other guy will
