Taking heed to words of Ra's Al Ghul, Immortality sounds good on the surface, but when one lives for hundreds of years, you will long for death.

And we all sure are qualified to debate on the topic of immortality.

But you wouldn't be able to taste or smell anything?

you would just be able to think

I'd rather die

seeing my friends die naturally then there's me - making me friends only results in them dying eventually o.0

would be depressing as fuck

You need to interpret terminology correctly before I can even begin to take you seriously.

I understand the meanings just fine buddy.  Do you understand them?

Dont forget that the world we live in is depressing as fuck, so living in it forever would like torturing yourself. Unless you don't feel emotion when your put in this avatar, and your the equivalent of a robot with memories.

Me personally immortality and living forever is too much, I think id be fine with a rather long live. say 100 or 110 that way I can live to see the new century.

Why is human immortality such a bad thing? You guys are making it seem like immortality=living robot with no emotions or senses, which is most likely false.

Well temporary immortality may not be such a bad thing, but full, flatout, everlasting immortality...eventually you'd have to see things that you've grown emotionally attached to die out/fade away if they're not immortal as well. Which then probably might drive you to madness, makes you wish you weren't alive for ever...and yeah.

The only situation you can really do is gather every single drug you can find and have an everlasting trip-out session for the next couple of centuries or so.

I hope by the time we'll have immortality we'll be able to easily travel to space and live there if we wish. That will solve any "overpopulation" problem, plus you'll never be bored cause you'll be able to explore the whole universe for centuries and observe it while it changes.
I'll enjoy being immortal and use up the time to do as much as I possibly can. So what if I'll have to see mortal things I've grown attached to die, it happens anyway while you're mortal, you just get over it. Maybe that's bad, but I'll feel somewhat good knowing I outlasted all of the ones who died.

And we never know how it will be. It might be living like a robot with no emotions and it might be better than living as humans now. I'm mainly thinking about the possibility of flying on your own in the future or the ability to transform to whatever we wish to.

I am cold and heartless but damn, that's a little bit too much.

You all are forgetting several things:

1. You will never afford this.
2. You might have other robot friends.
3. This. Ain't. Ever. Gonna. Happen. You mark my words.

Anyways, I wonder what advances in technology his research will bring us.
I have avatars and signatures disabled. There is no reason to judge people here by anything other than what they post.

I would do this if we were able to move and act as if we were still in our human body. I mean, sure it sounds cool to live forever and be able to learn and see all of these things, but what use is it in the end?
