Human immortality could be possible by 2045, say Russian scientists

Yeah, like memo said; you may be able to live for ever, but you would not be indestructible. I view this as a way of extending life rather than trapping people into living indefinitely.
Tezuni:
The best shot at immortality is to stop the aging process. It's already been done, and in fact, reversed with mice.
Man or machine, I think immortality is just a matter of time, but invincibility is impossible.

1. You will never afford this.
2. You might have other robot friends.
3. This. Ain't. Ever. Gonna. Happen. You mark my words.
Anyways, I wonder what advances in technology his research will bring us.

People already have robotic limbs which they can move just like normal ones. They just need to find a way to put a brain in a robot or create an artifical one.
Sight is also done already, hearing would probably be easy, smelling, tasting and reproduction are left.

If they'll make the robots from materials like...Carbon Fiber for example, then it will be harder to kill us. They'll just put our brains inside the robot and done =D
The only thing I fear is that they'll be able to control us and program us however they wish. Then we'll end up being their slaves/army forever.
Nemisous:
Yes there is indeed people with prosthetic limbs that work just like regular limbs but these people have to pay and arm and a leg... horrible pun. Most people have rather simple prosthetic limbs that are made of acrylic and have simple sensors that open and close with the movement of the stump. These modern prosthetic limbs cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and are complex and are difficult to make because they use rare materials like titanium and other alloys and hard plastics.
But I think your thinking way to hard about this, think of it what is the number one weakness of a robot...... and EMP. The EMP would shut off everyone and the brains would rot killing everyone. The very electronics keeping us alive would get fried.
while a normal human would be fine.

Harder, but nothing makes someone invencible. (as far we know yet)
