With SA missles being put on the roofs of residential buildings,  more cameras being put than there are in China (let's not forget these are thermal cameras capable of following you around the city), between 24,000 and 49,000 troops being stationed around the city, a tall-ass, 11-mile electrified goddamn fence covered in cameras and the biggest fucking ship in the Royal Navy being docked in the River Thames with a full crew, you have to wonder:

Britain has had a history of crazy security overreactions like when they closed off a few blocks to safely dispose of a .22LR shell casing or confiscating a Star Trek sword but this is totally disproportionate.
