The DDoS attack has probably helped the politicians realize "Wait, this bill upsets our people". Remember that the people keep the politicians in office, and the only way a politician can go totally against the people's view is to take control and totally oppress them or inevitably lose their position of power (and money) when the expiration date comes close.

Recent events have certainly stirred things up.. Megaupload, one of the biggest sites in the world, got taken down by a joined effort of many authorities all over the world including the FBI. This, together with uprising of the NDAA, SOPA and PIPA have shocked many of you. However, these events should come as no surprise because we only have ourselves to blame.

Because it is us, the people that have let this happen. We have let them take it this far. We got lazy and didn't keep our politicians in check. For every time we didn't go out to vote. For every time we did not speak up when our representatives didn't follow our ideas. For every time we let the media fool us with lousy non-debates. For every time we let the politicians mislead us with false evidence and phony promises. We had to rights to do all of this, but we failed to keep our end of the bargain: to be truely critical towards our leaders. Already in Roman times the politicians knew about the so called 'Bread and circuses', an effective way to dumb down the plebs and keep them shut. How many of you choose to be dumbed down by easy entertainment? How many of you have closed your eyes for the powers your leaders keep granting themselves?

Don't get me wrong, I applaud every one's actions against recent events, but we need to see the bigger picture here. We can NOT let this momentum fade and become passive once more. Because after this threat, many more will come. Some more sutile than others, that's where the dangers lay.
I'd say it's time for us, the people, to rise up! It's time for us to make them honour our rights! It's time for us to be critical towards EVERYTHING and SPREAD THE WORD. It's time, to regain our POWER!
