It's just you gave -1 for an idea. It may have went well in his head, but ideas always have some draw back to it that the creator sometimes over looks.
It's when you start dissing ideas, the good ideas stop coming because they're afraid of the feedback they may get back.

i love you..

Oh wonderfuil I'm still being misinterpreted.

I like how you think that putting /sarcasm makes whatever you say appropriate.

Well, I agree and disagree with this.

This would cause less hackers to join- or rather even think about joining.
But like many said, it would decrease player entry, some players on the random servers doesn't even know about the forum lol, and some people are just to lazy to register and post a topic.
You could put forum link in the message box that would appear for Non-Whitelisted players like you said, which would help some players.

It won't make it harder for people to hack.

Like, at all.

It will only discourage people from even PLAYING on the server, and the idea only works if it also discourages hackers.

I have played Stronghold couple of times and it's fun for certain amount of time. Then it gets boring. And I haven't seen any hackers. I have seen couple reports, though.
There isn't such way to remove hacking from games. Sure you can try and should, but there is no way to stop them completely. Only way is to report and hope the hacker gets banned. This idea, like said previously, would be bad for Guests. Community always needs more players and players need community. By blocking the Stronghold server from 'normal' players, will stop them from getting known to this community and how awesome it is. Or bad

No

I have another idea though, why don't we implement an accuracy and headshot percentage log into the server. It would help catch a hacker.

Also, we should put a list of people we banned for hacks in the loading screen while joining the server. Propaganda!

The accuracy rating is a great idea, but it will cause people to be more concerned about their accuracy and for some players it's going to be a big deal.

Putting the list of banned IPs right out there isn't too good of an idea, remember the community that released all the people it banned for Seth hacks? It got DDoSed to the point where no one could do anything but take it offline.
I have avatars and signatures disabled. There is no reason to judge people here by anything other than what they post.

Minic has some supersecret way to detect aimbotters. Perhaps this tool could be made available to admins?
Obviously if he made it thats his call to make

Tomorrow I'm gonna get a demo editor (if there is one) play stronghold all day WHILE RECORDING at night I'm gonna edit it see how many aimbotters and name changers I record..

Well the accuracy rating could be only reserved for admins/vip's if they wanted to check the logs for more proof.

I didn't say to put people's IP's. That would be horrible. I think it's just good enough if they just put their names.

Yeah postin IP's would be worse FAR worse because I think that breaks a law maybe?
And I think the accuracy is good for VIP's and Admins because that would help my us out a lot (well at least me)

...i'm pretty sure he just checks their lua cache, which for minic is as easy as pissing into a lake

either that, or he checks for any svars that don't match client/server.

either way, whichever he does, it works.
