How does music affect you?

^Title

When listening to music, does it help you get in a better mood? Does it CHANGE your mood? Do you feel better afterwards?

How does music affecft you if it does at all?

For me, certain music can change my mood and always put me in any mood I want. Like taking away anger, sadness, depression, etc. Even if I were having the worst day of my life I could listen to these songs and be happy for those moments.

If you want, you can also post the songs that affect you :L

How does it make YOU feel?

Makes me feel like I want to bash my head in with a hammer. No offense.

When ever I listen to any march, I feel focused.
It must be from the steady beat.
And when I listen American marches, I feel proud.
I think you can guess why.

However, there is an exception, Soviet marches.
I feel detached from joy, but still happy.
It's an odd feeling, and I have no idea what it's from.

When I listen to classic rock, I just get lost in the music.

Then you feel just like me. Although the reason is probably not the same.

I listen to Classical, Jazz, Blues or vocals when I just want to chill.
I listen to Rock to me myself feel happier or just cause I feel like.
I usually listen to Heavy Metal when I'm pissed off. It helps me calm down and feel better, but I also like listening to it anyway =P
I listen to Pop, Electronic, Dubstep, etc. when I feel energetic.

I like Ozzy Osbourne - Facing Hell  the most. I would've given a youtube link, but for some reason I can't find it anymore D=

Music probably affects me, but only when I'm devoid of feeling a mood at all.

Otherwise it just influences my actions slightly.

I listen to anything.

Seriously.

Though I tend to find myself stuck in a loop within the 60s-90s, and the Genres popular then (MOST, not all).

But I jump back to present day and not so present 00s.

Pretty much a wide band of genre, so big I couldn't even tell what was what anymore, specifically.

Enjoy the Silence and Turquoise Hexagon Sun are just my favourites for doing something that will take a fuckload of time to do, though.

I probably know and listen to more, but too many to list/remember off the top of my head by name.

EDIT:

I listen to a poppy upbeat song, I occasionally like one of those deeper songs with a meaning.

Memories definately. Usually if the lyrics make me remember something very emotional I like the song even more.

Oh and Metal/Electronic makes me pumped up for gym.
