Jimbunions awesome memoirs:
jim went to guam for 5 days then came back
during those 5 days jim did things. ill list everything i thought was interesting, stupid, annoying, gay, fun, and stuff.
i havnt been on any planes for 2 years so i was pretty much scared shitless when i boarded the flight from Narita in a small plane. I dont really know the specifications but it was continental airlaines and the cabin had 3 seats on the each side of 1 isle.
All through the flight i gripped the sides of my small economy class seat squeezed between the window and my brother who kept spitting in my face. Every twist, bump, and rumble made me frantic. I really didnt know why i was so scared but all i could think about was how the planbe would crash into the ocean or would be hijacked by a group of radical terrorists on a mission to crash into Guam and demand they be released without any confrontation.it took me around an hour and a half to calm down and then we were already landing, which sparked up new terrors like
1. the plane's landing gear wouldnt come out and we would be stuck up here or forced to make a crash landing on the runway
2. the plane is so small thast the winds will cause the cabin to rip in half
3. the engine will explode when a bird flies into it
4.The pilot never intends to make the landing since he is actually part of the terrorist group and rockets the plane into the small airport.
5. the pilot has a sudden heart attack or goes blind
6. many more
By now you should understand what kind of terror i was really in. We actually landed safely too.
Ive been to Guam before and remember some things about it like the shops and stuff but that was years ago and now everything about Guam seams so much more clearer than ever.
For a start ive actually noticed that there are hardly any real americans (i recognise them as the fat people or the ones wearing Armani suits and Tag Huer watches). Most of the residents are local people with dark skin called Chamorros, they look just like phillipinos too.
So my dad was a frequent flyer and stayed at the Sheraton hotel in many different countries a lot so we got a platinum room at the top of the hotel overlooking the vast ocean and nearby reefs and attols. However i instantly noticed one thing missing, the one thing that makes a summer vacation a summer vacation. The goddam beach, there wasnt any! I would just have to deal with it. They did however have a big pool with a waterfall and a small waterslide so not everything was lost.
The highlights of this vacation was the rooms with plasma TVs. (my parents had one hotel room and we had another) My dad snores so it was a relief to be in a different room. In Japan The plasma TVs are big and crystal clear but they dont get all the good channels. There is discovery channel for Japan but since everything has to be translated first the new episodes usually come late.
Guam had its own adverts for special island stuff but they were terrible. The acting made me want to rofl and the quality was really bad.
here a good commercial
Travelocity Knife Thrower and BubbleBathThere were nearby shopping malls. Although i wouldnt really call them that, they didnt sell anything worth buying. There was a galleria with a bunch of woman shops and all that. They had some really cool men glasses though so me and my bro had a good time trying lots of different Aviators on. There was one really cool one that had like silver lense and all that. The price tag read something around 300$.
Another thing i like about America is that they have hard rock cafes everywhere. I like the music and the food is great.
As for the sightseeing we rented a car and went all over the small island getting lost every couple of miles. I took some pics with the HD camera and ill post them soon. We went to an Aquarium and some war museums, boring boring boring. And we had Taco Bell for the first time, i thought it was pretty good and ordered a second quesadilla.
While i was doing all that i was thinking of an awesome new map so screw you.
The trip back on the plane was pretty much the same coming exept a lot worse cus the pilot was a trainee (more moments of horror) and it was really rough.
but i made it back and im stuck here with this laptop again.
oh i forgot to say they didnt have ANY computer stores over there and i was going over my head saying "where the hell do these people get their electronics!"
My dad has a backup laptop that he doesnt need and its really kickass so i can deal with it until i find something good on the internet. Its pretty fast, slim black design, nice keyboard, wide screen, and lots of memory so back to gmod i can come. My mother old laptop i was using i can do shiz on still.
The desktop and my dad's other broken laptop both need their hard drives replaced. My old laptop is completely messed up, not broken, just really messed up. (i just realised our family has a shit ton of laptops here and there)
There were some more stuff that happened but im pretty tired of typing, im still weary from spending hours in a steel craft going hundreds of miles an hour 35,000 feet above the Pacific ocean
