Virus bullshit!

symptoms:
First a not pops up minimized saying that "internet explorer is not your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?" Then the wave bar on my sound control center goes completely down so I have no sound. It repeats this ever 5 minutes!

Did that but it didn't help only option is to un-install ie but how... apparently its not in add or remove programs and i can't delete the directory.

You have a browser hijacker.

Could try safe mode with some apps like malware bytes anti-malware or spybot search & destroy.

To uninstall IE you need to uninstall it as a component, usually found in add and remove programs menu.

Idk how to use spybot I went to uninstall info could not find it. Ima restart and restore to last config that worked and see if it fixes it.


EDIT: son of a @#$$% its still there... so far Ive tried: Ending the processes deleting IE, files from folder, add and remove programs. I don't know I would reboot but I'm afraid i may lose my schoolwork.

How did you even get this? Were you watching pronz and stumbled upon some bad stuph when you clicked on free download barely legal??

Jk. No seriously I've had this before, the only way i got rid of it was running in safe mode and running spybot search and destroy and work at it from there. If that fails then do a system restore. Or at least restore back to a restore point.

Just let Spybot make ONE_SINGLE_SCAN.
It will get it, and it will remove it. And if you can't use it because you don't get it, you deserve the virus.

I was using Google a wile back, and I was searching something clicked a link and it took me to a different site then advertised, it must have had h4x virus on the site, I did not download pornz. I only watch Pingaz on trusted sites.

Ok I found a temporary fix for it here:

basically it blocks the processes iexplore.exe when it pops up automatically so pwn... Ive tried spybot and every thing to no avail.
