Having Problems Joining the server.....

I seem to have problems joining the Sandbox server because of the IP change. I just cant get past the Sending Client Info stage. Same thing with the other guy.

Sometimes when too many people connect and disconnect before joining the server stops sending info to clients :/

The only way to prolong the life before the error is to remove addons, but the problem would still occur :/

If an admin is on just ask them to change the map.

This is a very common case, I've had cases where i was just stuck on the 'retrieving server info'. the best thing to do is to wait, or contact an admin to restart map or change the map :P

btw, to all those people who are tired of waiting: LIVE WITH IT :D
it is very natural, it usually freezes but DO NOT FRET, it changes back to either: 1. it will say '<username> timed out' (this only happens when you are not connected for at least 10 mins after trying to join the server
or 2. you join :D

here is a tip, when joining, the mouse icon will change, indicating that it is nearly ready or nearly ready to 'time out' xD

oh and one last thing, DO NOT LET YOUR GMOD GO INTO SCREEN SAVER mode, if it does, say goodbye and restart gmod, it is nearly impossible to get back to gmod after going though a screen saver mode

This could count as a bug couldn't it?
Perhaps we could make a server reset ever hour to stop it from happening. That would need a countdown so people can save there stuff first.

there are servers that actually rotate map every 3 hours or so, with a countdown

We could do this, or i can make a script to check for no players and time from last player and BOOM reset :D

Either way, I won't be able to work on it too soon :(
