That system doesn't seem to apply for the whole UK though, Magic.

My college was 16+, high school finished at 16 and in order to go University, you had to finish college first.

In the US you go to 6 years of Elementry, two years of middle school, and then 4 years of junior high, then college.

That's standard for schools here as well, but some districts may be slightly different. For me, I had 3 years of middle school instead of 2, though it was changed after I left. (no I didn't fail and repeat a grade... but while I was at the school it was 6-8, but now changed from 7-8)

A while ago in my district, it had 6 grades in elementary school but then they changed it to 4 grades and put it in middle school. So my district would be K-5 elementary, 5-8 middle, 9-12 high...
