It's back.

Devie I swear that next week it will be scanned ;D

I can't draw or work on the machinima now because I am at a different house for the remainder of the week.

Once the school year starts (next week, oh the irony), I will be able to draw alot (ALOT) more often, so give me requests.

Other than that, I guess I'll post all of the stuff I've done from before now.

good pics,

Now that I saw this thread, I uh moved so I was going through a REALLY old diary of mine from when I was 9-12 years old and found some drawings I did at the time. I LOL @ it now especially that It has really been so long since I've held a pencil in my hand and drew anime. I doodle a lot in class but Idk..

Some of my anime ROFL:
Man I was like 9 when I drew this.

and this was unfinished. I was attempting to draw some character off of harry potter as an anime. The asian girl.. Cho chang??? I dunno
I was at least 12 when I drew this.

Thanks. Shading is cool once you get the hang of it.

I'd recommending starting using a wooden pencil, and always make sure you draw your source of light, even if you need to erase it later.

any kind of eraser you use that specializes into this? Recommendations?

Uhm I'm not sure.

The white kind always get the graphite on them, so make sure you either have an unused portion of the page or another sheet to rub it off on once it becomes too dark (or else it will smudge your drawing)

The pink kind vary. Some of them simply rub off really quickly and tend to be harder or more firm, and with them you usually don't need to worry about needing space to clean the erase (unless you're using construction paper... I hate that stuff. This kind of eraser will tear construction paper to smitherines if you try to erase on it). Then there's the soft pink kind. They are more like the white ones, but tend to smudge a but more.

If you find any black ones, they're basically similar to the white ones except it's harder to tell when you need to clean it (either that, or you don't need to clean it at all? I'm not sure :<.)

I'll upload one of my shading exercises in a bit.

It would be nice if you could upload a video doing it! It would certainly be helpful.
Also when you shade like that, do you get pencil marks on your hand? Like under your pinky? I hate that stuff :(

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Uhm video idk :<
If I find out an easy way to do it, then sure. Otherwise, probably not. Sorry!
I can probably do a time lapse drawing.

As for the marks on the hand, definitely if you're not careful.
I'm right handed, so I usually start shading on the left side of the page to keep myself from getting it all over me. ._.

for instance, in this drawing, first I drew the shapes in pencil, then I overlapped them with pen, then I erased the pencil, then I drew the light source, then I shaded them in this order: heart, club, spade, diamond.

sometimes however, I get carried away and start drawing the shading on the character first, before I decide I want something else in the picture to be dark... so yeah. It can get a bit messy.
