Although there is already a thread of a similar topic, I feel that what I say won't be noticed sufficiently unless I start a new thread.
There's a few points I'd like to discuss.
First and foremost: When someone posts behind anonymous to express an opinion, this is not always simply to cause discord and to be offensive.
When it is a directed attack on another user with no real basis, then it may be considered a trolling attempt.
However,
If you have a legitimate complaint about an issue, you may choose not to reveal your identity for a variety of reasons.
Oftentimes, users on the forums are susceptible to mob physics and "hive-mind hatred". What this means is, people will strongly express disagreement against an opinion simply for the sake of wanting others to have a good opinion of them. This is usually expressed in the form of mass -1'ing and general flaming. In addition, one may choose not to voice a complaint under their own name with the intent of not wanting to offend the other person.
In any case, some will interpret a perfectly valid statement as an attack because they're either easily offended, or not willing to concede to anyone else. Personally, I would have more respect for someone who was willing to consider any opinion of themselves as having truth to it, regardless of whether or not it's negative. If everyone was more willing to not take offense, the community would likely be more level-headed and amiable as a whole.

Second of all, it seems that many are either inept or hypocritical at handling problems on the anonymous board.
Many of you (Whom I am not addressing directly, seeing as I don't know who you are) seem to find insults and derogatory attacks a valid method of expressing to other anonymous users that insults and derogatory attacks are a bad way of expressing yourself. This isn't just ironic, it's irritating, and serves no good purpose. For example, some of you find using anonymous to express opinions makes someone weak, a pussy, etc. Then, you choose to use the anonymous board to insult the other anonymous users.

As another example, consider this: Many of you think that Devie makes too many sex jokes, and that none of them are funny. This is a valid argument. However, some of you also choose to attack her for it.

This not only defeats the purpose of expressing your complaint in the first place, but now you have accomplished nothing besides making yourself appear juvenile. Complaining about something as miniscule as someone's humor will not fix the problem. In all likelihood, you've spent more energy being irritated by it than you would have if you had ignored the situation entirely.
I just wanted to put this out in the open.
That is all.
