Anyone Good With Particle Effects?

I have something planned which is probably best to do using particle effects in my map, and I was hoping someone could link me to some good simple tutorials for placing particles or making particles. I've looked around but haven't been able to find anything helpful.

Watched it, didn't really help too much, don't really know how to place them properly.

Attempting to place a water fall lol. I'm not making a new one, but just placing an existing HL2. I've got it set at the spot I need it but can't figure out how to morph it. I basically just want to take the waterfall and stretch it over something. I thought that using the control points and the control points' parents would do that, but I think I'm wrong.

I still don't understand control points.

You could probably just add simple collision.

I would recommend you doing a model/brush with scrolling water fall texture on it. TF2 has this model. You could use it.

yea your better off just making a model or displacement for a waterfall and then adding water effects.
simple displacement with waterfall texture with particles for water splashes and ripples.
