Karmas

I had a little poke round and I don't think this has been mentioned yet, so here I go. Dunno if its just me but I find the karma in the TTT server to be waaayy too sensitive. I know this stops RDM'ers and such but still, read this; One time the map was on Krusty Krab, and I was minding my own business jumping around looking for better weapons. I jumped onto a table and suddenly somebody flipped it by holding a krabby patty with their magneto-stick. I rocketed into the air and fell down and accidently goomba-stomped some guy for 2 (thats 2) health, and at the end of the round i found i had gone from 1000 karma (Perfect :3) to somewhere around 650 (OH NU! D:)
So yeah this is a request for the karma system to have its sensitivity lowered, if possible.
Thnx for listenin n that.

Well goomba stomping counts as one person killing another. TTT recognizes falling people killing others.

You can't lose that many karma for damaging someone for 2 hp.
It was probably some kind of a bug or you just damaged someone else somehow as well.

The sensitive karma was here to decrease the amount of RDMs in the first place...but I do agree it gets kind of annoying when you accidentally shoot an inno that was in your way or killing your own T buddy because he stood in your way...

DID YOU DIED?

Seriously though... I'm assuming that the fall had killed you... and if you fell with 1000 karma onto someone and died, there is NO way the person would have had only lost 2 HP. you don't lose that much karma for damaging someone for 2 HP...
Either you accidentally also killed or injured someone else that round, and didn't realize it, or you killed someone else or did much more damage to someone else when you fell.

Now, the karma system is somewhat sensitive, but not THAT much... Though, mind you... killing 3 traitors and 1 innocent in a single round still makes you lose somewhere from 100-200 karma :/.

The karma system is good in my opinion.
Making it more sensitive like it is now gives Traitor's more of a chance to get away with things. Player's (who don't have the bug -_-") are less lenient to kill on what little suspecion they find, unlike those servers where they reset their karma, you are more care free on the fact of losing karma.

This makes it more fun for both the Innocents and Traitors. Though most may not like it, it makes you have to think more When you mess up, it's kind of like learning from a mistake in life. You killed a dude becuase he had a knife, but turned out to be baiting. I'd learn later on that just because they have a knife, doesn't mean they're traitor.

Anyways, other than that, there is also the fact that it gives you something to work towards.
I remember I was so bored for majority of the time I played on those servers that reset karma when RND was down. Also, the admins were extremely more strict about rdming and such, (one admin had apprenlty perma banned 4 players in one day?).

Once this karma bug thing wheres off, this system for the karma will be ultimatley better in my opinion for said reasons.

Sorry if things seemed out of place or what not, but this should explain what I'm talking about.

The system is way too strict, mistakes will leave you unable to do anything for hours. I was playing in whitehouse and I killed a few innos that were lined up. After I killed the last inno, I emptied like six bullets into a T-buddy and my karma went from 850 to 115.

Nothing is perfect.
I've made mistakes like that and other ones totally different with the same outcome, but I still think the pros way out the cons in this situation.

issue i find with the perma karma system is the bugs
idiots can come and cause people to lose karma, but spraying everyone till someone kills them, causing good players to lose karma
while minges get to keep their 850 karma

its punishing good players and ignoring horrible players

Maybe make the first innocent kill lighter on the karma-loss; still somewhat strict, but not -500 karma for a single kill.

Most of the time, good players lose their karma from a single mistake. To the people thinking it will just give minges more incentive and less punishment to RDM, they are probably going to kill more than 1 innocent that round anyway, resulting in massive karma loss.

Guys, the karma system is fine. Short of the karma bug, which was the outcome of a recent update.
