--- Quote from: Sabb on September 11, 2011, 08:39:09 AM ---Tbh, I agree with that. I don't really want to go into explanation on it because A) this is the internet, I can't expect shit to be taken seriously and to have an actual discussion where at no point is there stupid trolling or just plain stupid comments or w.e, and B) it's just not worth it. But yea, I have a lot of respect for anyone who's gone through the effects of 9/11 in any way, it's truly a terrible thing that happened, and a lot of innocent people had died for others' mistakes. (And for everyone that's going to say wowowow there are worse tragedies than 9/11 more people died for same reasons blah blah, I'm not saying that's wrong, but why make peoples' DEATHS into a competition? It doesn't mean that 9/11 was any less tragic...)

And Cheesicle, I seriously don't see why you -1'd Tiger's post. He just said that there's a lot of blind patriotism on the subject, which really is true. He didn't in any way insult anyone in the post or mean to come across as offensive. Maybe if he had worded it like his last post that he quoted, but he didn't.

Not to mention that now the average American thinks that every muslim hates our guts and wants to  :abuse: us.

Cake Faice:
Actually, after watching various footage on TV...that was even more depressing to me than the last time.

--- Quote ---Our entire society is a network of safety nets: emergency services at the end of a phone line; health and safety in the workplace; friends; family; lovers. All there, if something goes wrong. All part of a carefully designed structure to prevent all but the most mundane of emotions.

One of the main reasons this hit us so hard was that nobody could even imagine something like this happening.

This si something we went over in class.
Instead of the usual where people would run away, they had never gone through somehting like this. They couldn't really process what was happening, so they kept walking towards the scene without even thinking it might fall.
