Laptop or Netbook?

My birthday is coming up soon and my parents are allowing me to buy something with a 400$ spending limit.
I already have a decent computer that can run most games, As you all know.
I do travel quite a lot some times and i was looking forward to buy some type of mobile PC.

I've used netbooks before and i think they're very cool and convenient.
Magic was so nice and found me a decent netbook.

I've been planning on getting a netbook for a while until a few people crushed my hopes and dreams by telling me how bad they are.

I MUST NOTE: THE ONLY THING I WANT TO USE THE NETBOOK FOR IS SKYPE AND GOOGLE CHROME!


The other option would be to get a Laptop. I'm not sure what kinds of them you can get for 400$, And i'm not very smart with computers in general.


The reason i want a netbook is because its perfect for doing the small things i want to do.
I'M NOT GOING TO PLAY ANY GAMES WITH IT BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE.
My simple logic is:
I already have a decent gaming PC, so why not get a simple netbook?

Thoughts and opinions please.

Well, out of those two, I would have to go with...

Just kidding of course, but if I were you, I would look into some of the types of laptops you could get, and specs and stuff, before making a decision. My brother has a netbook and it's REEALLLLLY bad, I don't know if it's just his, or if it's most netbooks, but it's really quite bad. Even just for running Google Chrome, it's INCREDIBLY slow and very limited.
But at the same time, for the same price, I'm not sure if a laptop would be much better, and I'm not an expert with this kind of stuff, so, yea. I would just suggest looking into it more with Google or w/e as well as getting input from the community.

They all ran google chrome and they were all very fast.
I didn't bother trying to do anything else with them because they didn't belong to me.

From what I have seen, netbooks are perfect for what I want.

Get the best netbook possible. Unless you do that, aim for a nice lappy.

In which case, I would just look at the specs and see which is better performance wise.
