First Day: start barricading the house then wait 2 weeks and start hitting places up based on importance.
1)The police armory-need guns they got guns
2)local food basic and neighboring supermarkets.
3)home depot for like steel plating and more fortifications.
4)after 3 months pass I'll hit up a military armory (assuming they have been zombified by now.)
Do: get my closest friends to come to my house (cuz my building is like sturdy as fuck)
Supplies: food from my local super markets, and home depot
Weapons: portable nailgun, and any weapons i find at the police armory

Why this works:
It is fucking las vegas. Zombies will rot in the midday sun, and numbers will stagnate quickly, making the initial hours of the outbreak the toughest. Game, set, fucking match.

We dont need the gated community. I am telling you man, if shit goes down we are heading to Nellis AFB and going to camp there. There are fuel reserves, weapons, vehicles of all sort including but not limited to jets and those unmanned planes. There is also a stockpile of food there.

You know I don't understand everyone saying they will raid these armories and military bases.
most of you seem to think that all you need is a gun for survival, yet i'm willing to bet you've never handled much more than a pump shotgun...
If all YOU need is a gun to survive, how did all the police and military die?

Not to mention guns should be the last thing you want, as I've stated, and yet been ignored.
