What I would do first on the very first day: Secure a shelter in a logical location; Preferably a large open area that is fenced off, or a warehouse.

I would gather these materials: Food, Transportation, and Ammunition

My weapons and gears would be:
- AR-15 (Primary assault rifle)
- FS2000 (CQB Secondary assault rifle)
- Five-seveN (Personal Sidearm)
- SOG Tech Bowie (Knife)
- Harness/vest
- Trauma kit (bandages, morphine, etc)
- Cyanide Capsule
- Stanley FuBar
- (edit: forgot) 550 Paracord:200 ft
- A reason to die
