Wow, vegans. Yea that is a rather sensationalized video.
Don't they realize plants can feel just as much?
It's never "the animals were then asphyxiated" in that video, its always HORRIBLY MUTILATED WITH PAINFUL CARBON DIOXIDE.
Carbon dioxide poisoning isn't a painful way to die, you just get a headache, start hyperventalating and fall asleep... It's not like they are mustard gassing the animals.
But yea, there are certainly plenty of ways to improve the conditions in which farm animals live, and the slaughterhouses are rather barbaric.
But that video is ridiculous.
It's a good thing to see however, as that is how your meats get to your plate, and it's important to know how they get there. As many people when you ask them where their meats come from their answer is "the store!"
But as other people have already mentioned, some the practices displayed in that video are illegal practices, and then the video passes them off as the norm.
Like the guy punching the calf, that's just a sociopath.
And the fish part... I liked how they portrayed farmed fishing, as I hate that crap, and trawlers are barbaric. But letting the fish asphyxiate isn't that terrible of a way to put them down, as there really isn't any other practical way of killing them.
What would you like us to do? Run around with needles and put all the fish to sleep?
