Problem, Don? Yes, there is problem.

fitting title auheuhe

Anyway.
So some time ago, my laptop broke down completely and I ended up having to install a new Windows 7, which I bought in the UK. All internet connections worked fine over there. Now the problem is ... I moved back to Switzerland, and my Laptop doesn't seem to like the internet over here whatsoever.
Everytime I plug it in (it runs over Lan cables with a router set up to the modem, blabla), the laptop gets stuck at identifying and eventually gives up with it. I have tried to google this, but all the solutions I found so far didn't work.
I have tried to connect the laptop directly to the Modem, which worked fine ... The only problem was that no other computer could connect to it anymore then for some weird reason. I have tried several different adapters and stuff, but everything brings up the same error.

Now, in risk of sounding like a total noob, does the (language) version of Windows actually make a difference to what internet you can connect to? Because I certainly don't have any other explanation of this. ._.
And more importantly, does any of you fine gentlemen happen to know a solution to this?

It's funny 'cause you don't know the solution

You need to reset/change the PC's router IP to that of the router

It's not always the same, EG. british router might have a different lanip to switzerland (192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1)

FInd out what your router is then I'll get back

Don't you know your routers lanip?

In your Web browser, navigate to the router login page. By default, one or all of the following URLs should work:
http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com
http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
Note: You can sometimes find the login URL on a sticker on the bottom or back of the router.

Find out which

Okay lol, this seems to have been something extremely simple and stupid of me to not notice or try that ...
The internet doesn't work when it's plugged in on the same set of plugs as the laptop charging cable, which I haven't noticed so far because I'm dumb.

This is embarassing.
Anyway, thanks Magic,
