Xexxar: Community Response

Exactly, we never have and never will. There was a ban for around 6 months for this offense, and is still in effect.
I think that statement tends to neglect the trends of change.
--- Quote from: Cheesicle on March 28, 2011, 05:23:04 PM ---What I'm trying to say is that just because you give someone a second chance, doesn't mean they gonna follow rules.

They also have an equal chance to follow the rules.
History is an important lesson, but it is not a documentation of the future.
There is no way for sure to know exactly how someone will act, however, following trends is a good place for assumption.
I opened this thread for Xexxar just like I would for anyone in a similar position.
I treat any one of you with the greatest respect I can and wish only the best opportunities to come your way.
It is my belief that anyone should have their ability to speak as long as it does not threaten the abilities of others.
Based off the disrespectful nature of his response to your reactions and the outright false testimony which he continues to go back on, I am not prepared under any circumstance to allow his position to change.
I would like to express the respect and appreciation I have for those who have come to defend their voice on this issue.
I will leave this thread open for any clarification or further comments.
Cheesicle:
Yes I agree, however him disliking yomo solely because he could not understand him shows that he discriminates, which, in my case, turns my vote into a no.

Yes that is true and another point to consider.
Xrain:
This is a tough one.
On one hand, It's good when people like playing on the servers.
On the other it's not good when someone starts ruining the fun for everyone else.
You obviously had hindered other people's enjoyment since they have strong feelings about you not returning.
There are a few things that I find completely unacceptable in a gaming environment like this. Namely things that are obviously illegal.
#1 on that list is DDoS or DoS, people don't really understand quite how illegal that is, I mean all you have to do is type in an IP and hit a button and bam you can get all the revenge you could ask for.
How could something that easy be illegal?
Threatening to do it, is nearly just as bad. Even if you can't back up the threats, it's no different from walking into a store with your hand in your pocket, whether or not you actually have anything, and then starting to yell at the cashier that you want all the money.
It's still armed robbery.
And yes DDoSing in general is not quite as bad as holding up a convenience store, but it still has the possibility to cause just as much harm, just imagine for instance if a hospital uses only VoIP phones, and you mistakenly DDoS them shutting down their connection. That could get quite a few people killed.
On the other hand, I do understand what being a 12-19 year old is like, I was just there, It's easy to have your emotions get out of hand and to do something stupid. In-fact about 90% of the bans of well known forum members are because of this.
Eventually I hope everyone will realize when they are starting to get out of hand, and take a few steps back and get a hold of themselves.
But in the end, the actual risk anyone poses to the servers themselves, is only superficial.
The real damage is what happens to the people inside the community, which is why coolz opened this up for discussion.
I personally think, despite 6 months seeming like an eternity, the wounds are still too fresh for people to get over them.
If you really are wanting to make amends, keep at it, show us you want to play here again and don't let your impatience get the better of you. Betraying people's trust is a slow thing to heal.
Apologizing can never really erase something, but it sure as hell doesn't hurt.
To everyone else,
Yes Xexxar made quite the ass of himself before he got banned, but I'm quite certain there is sometime in your life where you have made a an ass of yourself when dealing with someone, and spoiled something and after a while you wished you could take it back.
To Magic,
I am kinda disappointed here, I understand defending your girlfriend, but holding a grudge against someone is awfully petty, no matter what they have done.
